Trynes’s firebolt hits the creature squarely and burns a large hole in the equitaur’s side. The smell or singed swampy flesh fill Torhak’s nostrils. The creature looks to be nearly finished.

Seeing this, the wyrmling swoops on the last known spot of the sleeping creature near the cart and slashes beneath the surface. Seemingly satisfied, the wyrmling turns and whips its wings and the young dragon streaks to the log bridge, ready for its prey.
OOC:
Torhak is up, with Kalli on deck.

Torhak slams his hammer into the ghastly creature, divine power coursing through his weapon. It does not have quite the effect he hoped, but the creature angrily snarls in defiance. He second blow finishes the job and the equitaur falls back with a splash into the inky blackness.

Kalli Alran
Kalli aims her bow at the last remaining visible creature. "What of that one, sir Meepo?"

Swamp Creature
It looks up at the Kolbold, "I helped. You should drink.", it says in a strange language. It awkwardly raises a cupped hand of the black water to the floating Meepo aboard his wobbly mount. Its still clearly terrified of the minotaur."It will help your friends."
Only Meepo is able to understand its words.
OOC:
You have about a minute until the sleeping creature awakens. Kalli is holding her action.
Apr 25, 2025 5:53 pm
Meepo flys down to the last conscious creature and turns to Kalli to respond to her. "Meepo thinks it might be good to come with us. Meepo asked it to help Keep us safe. Unless we are not in danger from anything anymore Meepo hopes it will keep wanting to keep us safe."

Meepo takes out one of his viles so the creature can pour the water water into his vile for him to analyze.

After he has the water he holds it up to the light to see if there are any special properties he can see, smells it to see if it reminds him of any certain chemical he can recall. "It says we should drink some to help us out" Meepo says to the group while analyzing it. If it doesn't smell or look too toxic he will dip a finger in the water and taste a drop off of his finger to help his deduction of the water.

He turns to the creature. "Thank you. And what is your name might I ask? My name is Meepo!"
OOC:
what would you like me to roll if anything to analyze this water?

Swamp Creature
"No need for names anymore.", it replies simply as Meepo takes the sample in his vial.

Lalulalith whispers an incantation that makes the mud and grime slide off her clothing to leave them as pristine as they had been in the morning. Unfortunately, the magic will do nothing to clean her muddy skin and hair. An illusion will cover those blemishes soon enough, but there are even more important matters to attend to first.

She steps forward to the the edge of the swamp and calls out to the golden dragon while she bows deeply. "Laulalith the Bard, at your service. I am most grateful for your assistance. What may we call you?"

Insight check

Meepo nods at the creatures answer. "Understood." he paused for a moment then asks "why did you all attack us in the first place? Just wondering so we know how to avoid being attacked later possibly."
OOC:
oh dang! I used to drink this stuff back in my college days lol 😆 😆

Insight - (1d20+5)

(20) + 5 = 25

Meepo closely inspects the completely opaque black liquid within the vial. The sorcerer knows a curse instinctively. The swamp water most definitely cursed and the creature is treacherously trying to trick the kobold. Taking in the appearance of those they just fought, he comes to the realization that the creature before him was once human, the equitaur was once a horse. The clear culprit of their change, being the water itself. To what end, the kobold is unsure.

Dubdub
The wyrmling lands in front of the elf woman. "The animals call me Dubdub. These abominations are dangerous. The goblin woman drank the water and now it calls her too. A man named Leith has her bound on that island, but he too is weak."
Apr 25, 2025 6:56 pm
Meepo smiles a toothy grin at the creature. "Thank you for your suggestion. I think I'll take a few viles back home and who knows what may happen at that time" after saying that Meepo fills more viles so he has a total of three viles of the cursed water and turns to the group and speaks in under common and draconic "can any of you understand me right now?"
Apr 25, 2025 7:24 pm
Laulalith raises an eyebrow at Meepo's question and shrugs to show her lack of understanding, but then the dragon's words steal her full attention. "Please, take us to them. We've come in search of those two, and we want to help them." She carefully wipes the last of the cursed water from her face as she shudders at the thought of what could have happened if she had opened her mouth when she fell in swamp.

As she turns to look for the two remaining Grey Dogs, she calls out to Torhak and points to the spot where the last sleeping creature lies. "I would rather not get stabbed in the back when that one wakes up. Please, could you do something about it?"
OOC:
I just realised that I never chose any languages for Lali :)

The creature merely nods and attempts to return the kobold's smile.

Dubdub
Dubdub nods and with urgency, the wyrmling gracefully dances across the log to the island. "Be warned, more of those things will be coming, Laulalith the Bard.", he says.

On the island, an upturned cart sits, providing shelter for a withered man and a sickly looking goblin woman in a yellow dress.

OOC:
I'll take a pause to allow for everyone to decide where they are and what they're doing.

The sleeping creature will be waking up shortly...
Apr 25, 2025 11:37 pm
Tryne on top of the coach, listens to the odd conversation going on. "I think we should consider killing them before the magic wears off. I do not get the impression that they will just go on their way."

He looks at the water, "I don't think the coach is getting through that over to the island. If more are coming, we should retrieve your friends and get moving."
Apr 26, 2025 2:32 am
"I agree on both counts."
Apr 26, 2025 3:09 am
Meepo looks around to see if any of his companions share one of his languages and when there is no response Meepo uses a sorcery point to cast the message cantrip at Torhak. He uses a sorcery point to make sure there are no verbal components so therefore the creature hopefully not be able to receive or understand the message. The message that is sent to Torhak is "The water this things wants us to drink is cursed. Please tell the others do not drink it. If someone does drink they turn into these creatures. They might be cured if someone know how to remove a curse. Please share with the others."
Apr 26, 2025 3:12 am
When the creature smiles back Meepo repeats the question to it but changes the wording in hopes the wording will provoke it to answer truthfully. "Do you know why we were attacked or what they were after? Knowledge like that could really help us Keep Safe!" Meepo draws out the two words Keep Safe when he talks to the creature.

Meepo will start rising higher on his broom to about 20 feet off the ground to see if he can get a better view of the land and to see if he sees the man in his vision or the small goblin with a clawed necklace that was in his vision.
