Trusk has watched all the goings on with a serious expression. He doesn't seem to smile often. These folks seem more interested in plunder than combating evil. he thinks. Still though, staying by their side may lead to great deeds. And the minotaur seems happy enough with their company. I shall go with them, if they'll have me."

"It was a church you say. What happened that it is no longer a place of worship?"
Nov 20, 2024 6:58 pm
"The Titaness and her minions were using it as a base before we were. I'm nit sure how they 'acquired' it. Maybe one of the locals will tell the tale?" Vice replies

Meepo will pack up his belongings and head out the door to follow 37 in case he is heading towards the direction of his base. Forgetting he hasn't paid anything for his meal he yells out to Roz "heads up" and tosses a silver in her direction.

Roz catches the coins for Meepo with a nod. Then the halfling chimes into the conversation. "Church may be a strong word for it. All the rumours say it was a hall for the Blood of Vol. Then it was abandoned. Then it was Sovereign Host. They said it was cursed, or haunted. They left it too. It’s been empty for years. Now it’s just an old building."
Nov 20, 2024 7:34 pm
The Blood of Vol, Torhak could have grinned. The Undead element from their story made sense now. Why the clergy of the Host hadn't cleaned it out though was beyond him, maybe they just never went into the basement.

Torhak looked at the Titaness head as Meepo tossed his coin to Roz. It gave him an idea, the head had been cut off in the story by the one known as Vice' chakram. A coin was a bit like a chakram, round, and easy to throw. He wanted to test whether he could behead the Titaness. He'd give it show when they went to leave. If nothing else Roz could have the coin for the good soup she served.

Laulalith is surprised by 37's sudden departure, but she quickly gathers her belongings and follows the others. As she passes the bar, she slides a few coins to Roz. Enough to pay for her wine and untouched food plus a generous tip. "They say that bars don't bring salvation to the soul, but your place is certainly the Soul of Salvation. I hope I may return to perform again another day."

She sees Torhak pause to consider the Titaness' head on his way out, and wonders what he is up to.
Nov 20, 2024 7:51 pm
Torhak’s coin sings as it spins through the air. Roz smirks and let’s it continue its path. The silver passes through the left eye of the Titan’s mask. It rattles around inside the large metal helm and the sound draws the attention of a few of the patrons. As the sound settles, it drops out of the bottom and into a small shot glass with a ringing clink.

The few men that turned, whoop and toast the minotaur with their ale. "Couldn’t make that shot again if he tried!", one says to the other at his table. A couple toss a few pieces of copper trying to duplicate Torhak’s throw. Roz pipes up, "I’m keeping everything you toss as tips, you stingy lot!", she brings Torhak another drink, "This one’s on the house.", she says with a wink.

Lalulalith smiles as she sees Torhak's coin find its mark.

She quikly produces a silver of her own. She presses the coin to her forehead, holds it up high, and proclaims: "For good luck .. and for Roz". Then she attempts to mirror the minotaur's perfect aim.
OOC:
We posted at the same time Nictorah. What are the odds. :-) But it was good that mine got in first.

Rolls

Attempt to hit the eye (imporvised weapon, dex?) - (1d20+2)

(12) + 2 = 14

Performance to make it look cool even though she probably fails - (1d20+7+1d4)

(18) + (4) + 7 = 29

Laulalith’s coin hits the rim of the eye and it bounces around the rim for a second before balancing precariously, seemingly ready to fall out. However, it also clatters into the mask. The elf is able to convincingly sell that she made the theatrical looking throw on purpose.

Several others also catch on and try to make throws of their own. As Laulalith leaves the tavern, Roz is trying to keep the new flying coin situation handled.

Torhak nodded to Roz, he was quite pleased with the outcome of the throw, and that Roz would benefit from it. He down the drink heartily and joined the others in leaving, only stopping to watch the bard toss her coin. When it fell through the mask and landed in the glass he looked to her and gave an approving nod.

"Good shot"

Laulalith sends Torhak a smile. "A lucky shot, to be honest." Then she nods in the direction of Roz at the bar. "I think you have started a tradition and made a friend. Not bad for your first day in Salvation."

Torhak looked back to Roz and chaffed, "Yes, she was appreciative" he then looked back to the bard, "Hopefully I have made more than one today" he said in relation to the number of friends he would have by the end of the day.

Tryne and his lion companion follow the others toward the door, he glances up at the titaness head, but after quickly calculating his odds of failure, decides not to try. Maybe he'd have to figure out a launcher to make the shot. The brightly colored half-elf smiles at Roz and hands her pay for his meal and tip. "Thanks for the welcome. Fine place you've got here." he says with a broad smile, looking forward to this being a regular hang out.

Tryne did not have anything else planned, but followed his new partners to this building which used to be a church. Overall, things were shaping up to be a splendid first day in Salvation.

Vice will break off from the group to ask Bela about the cart. Then hit Salvation times if it's not too late.
Vice tell the group "I will catch up with all of you later at our certainly no-longer-haunted base. Be nice to Famul, our automaton friend. He's also a new member of the team." Vice decides to head straight to the market to talk to Belaluur, thier favorike broker. Hopefully theold goblin will be happy to see him.
After paying his tab and thanking the staff, watching the next performance on stage, and then saying goodbye to the people he met last time he was here celebrating, he heads to Belaluur to see how soon the cart can be retrieved.

I’m going with the group.

Belaluur
Vice arrives at the market with plenty of time before Belaluur closes up shop. Draev Shaldor, the old miser broker is perusing ledgers in the background. Irullan Karnach looks to have packed up early.

"Yes, of course. I can have a message off first thing in the morning. I’m sure Lady d’Cannith would like to have her driver back.

She figures the cart would likely be in town just after lunchtime.

Felpip Cobblecloak
The Salvation Times’ gnome proprietor is alone in his office as Vice arrives. "It’s a little late, but it’s a simple enough request. It won’t get sent off till the morning rail leaves."

The gnome scribbles ‘Kyzire’ and notes his shop address in New Cyre. "Couldn’t tell you when it’ll be back. That’ll be twenty-five gold if you want to send it all the way by lightning rail. Or, thirty-five silver the old-fashioned way."
OOC:
Which chakram are you sending and what damage type would you like?
Nov 21, 2024 12:48 am
"Thank you my Belaluur my friend. I regret that it may be a while until we have something to sell you. So pleae, pease try not to miss me too much." he says with a smirk and leaves before she can smack him
"Twenty-five gold! That best include the return trip and no delays my boy. Please at this letter. My writing isn't the best, but it will get the point across."

Dear Kyzire,
Along with your fee I have including Pride. I am not sure if the news has reached you yet, but this is the weapon that beheaded the Titaness in the recent Battle of Salvation. I believe it's only befitting and proper that such a weapon be blessed with radiant energy. Don't you agree?

Felpip smirks, "Oh yeah, I’ll throw on my winged boots and fly them the rest of the way from Starilaskur myself!", he says jokingly. "I’ll talk to one of my friends. See if I can’t put in a good word for one of heroes of Salvation. Either way, I’ll keep you posted. How’s that?"

Famul
Meanwhile, the rest of the group arrives back at the hall. It’s long been abandoned to the spectres and undead within. A giant, red and gold shield is in the final stages of being set above the massive hall doors by a little automaton and a few of the townsfolk. "move the shield to the left… the shield is leaning to the right…", his monotonic voice seems to be confusing his poor helpers.

SheK
Inside the large hall, they find a short, slender, half-orc woman, named SheK, quickly packing up her gear. "I apologize, 37. I’m being called away again." she says with a loud sigh. "I hope we will cross paths soon.", she looks wistfully over the town toward the Grey Mists. "They still call to me.."

She pauses in silence for a moment, "Keep the maps safe for me. I will be needing those back… I will be keeping the boots.", SheK clicks her heels together to show them off one more time. "Kleber joined Armat, but left the ring. He also said we, or rather you.. should get that staff checked out. Armat thinks there’s more to the crystals in it."
