Virtue smiles weakly, "Thanks, Partner. I’m thirsty. Any chance I could get some water?"

It’s an hour or two before midnight. You’ll have time for a long rest.

For clarification, Virtue’s curse has been removed, but she still has five levels of exhaustion.

Laulalith enters the temple and lets her disguise drops as the surveys the destruction. The others seem to have it under control, so she gets straight to business.

"There's no time to rest yet, Vice. Have you forgotten how this happened? Virtue's curse was not an accident. The death of the other Grey Dogs were not accidents. Ikar's crew attacked and killed to get their hands on the thing we now have on the cart. They will do so again if we let them. Even now, their cat is watching us and when she reports to Ikar they will start planning how to end us. What we have is too valuable and what we know is too damning for them to do otherwise." She throws two vials of healing potion to Vice to give the battered gnome a chance to recover.

Then she turns to Mother Janahah and 37 to consult their local knowledge. "Is the sheriff any good? I say we take this matter to him immediately. Enlist his help if we can. Convince him not to get in our way if we cannot. And then we take the fight to Ikar before they have time to prepare."

Reminded by Laulalith about the cart, Tryne returned outside to check on Talon and the coach.

Vice passes Virtue a waterskin, "Laulalith, I can not argue with you. Because you are right, and because I I am too weak. If Ikar's team makes a move now, I'd be of little use to you all."

Due to 37's usual lack of vocal inflection, it's quite difficult to tell if he's joking... or not.

"Alright, that's one vote for murder. Also, they arent all in the house, and there may be innocents inside. But hey, no bad ideas right now." Vice replied. He'd known 37 longer than most of the others here, and even he wasn't sure if he should laugh or get some kindling

Mother Jahanah does her best to smooth out her robes as she stands up. "While Sheriff and I do not always see eye to eye, we both have Salvation Outpost’s best interests at heart.", the cleric says to Laulalith, "His integrity is beyond reproach. However, no matter what Ikar’s crew has done, Sheriff would never condone flat out murder. He would want them brought to justice.", the last said with a side eye toward 37.

Outside the Temple, Tryne and Torhak sit with the cart. Leith remains resting inside the cabin. As if 37 spoke it into existence, the artificer notices an orange flickering light begin to rise behind him.

One of the townsfolk yells, "FIRE!!"

As the khoravar turns, he sees that Kalli’s house has been set on fire.

Laulalith responds with calm urgency. "Kalli lives alone, correct? This is clearly a diversion, and we cannot afford to follow the script Ikar's crew have prepared. If no one is in that house then we have more important problems."

"We could pretend to rush to the fire, but double back and set an ambush here and fight them when they come for the disc."

She raises an eyebrow and looks at Mother Jahanah. "I'm sure the authorities, mundane and divine, have no issue if we protect our salvage?"

Mother Jahanah nods, "You seem rather certain Ms. Alran is not home.", she says. "Yes, the town does have a fire brigade and no one in this town would judge a salvager that protects their gains."

Meepo looks around nervously surely it could be a trap but then again they haven't done anything out in the open to anyone right. Meepo looks to the group. "Meepo will be back. If Meepo is in danger he will escape no worries. Meepo gotta help." And with that Meepo rushes out the door jumps on his flying broom and races down to Kallis house

Laulalith looks after the departing kobold and mutters to herself. Then she plays a confusing and almost inaudible tune on her flute and touches Vice who immediately turns invisible. "That should help keep you safe for a while at least. Still, it would be much appreciated if either of you, Mother Jahanah, Dubdub, could spare a healing spell for my chivalrous friend."

Then she turns and adopts the disguise of a young acolyte of the temple.

OOC:

Lali gets Invisibility 1/day from two sources. This seems like a good opportunity to use it. Did Vice take the healing potions from Lali earlier?

Tryne heard the call of fire, but did not leave the coach. He was considering that it might be best to get the coach returned to the church before they did anything else, but if Virtue the goblin was coming along, it would be best if she could ride in the coach.
