The One Ring 2e [not the D&D 5e version]

I'd be willing to give that a go as a player. It'll help me become familiar with the rules with a pre-gen and take what I learn (making note of the criticism of the intro adv and where it falls short) to apply for a future, larger campaign.

I'd like to get in on this as a player. I am currently a player in a TOR 1e campaign over on Tavern-Keeper, run by Dunheved.

Okay. So I have Knell, Honor_Over_All, C1NDER, ForeverDED, and Eggs down for an introductory game of The One Ring 2nd Edition using the Starter Set scenarios. I'll try and get the game forum and invites done in the next few days and hopefully we can start after the weekend. I'll post the pregens in the forum for people to choose and you could always make an original Hobbit using a slightly cut-down version of the Core Rules (the pregens aren't quite full TOR characters).

How important is it to have the rulebook at the start?

I'd rather wait for a full game, if that's ok (I've read and played the starter adventures if you're using those too).

ForeverDED - unfortunately there is no quick start rules for TOR2E but we'll take things fairly gently to start rules wise so don't worry too much given we have the pre-gens. There's a cheat sheet on RPG Geek but I'm not sure it helps if you don't already know the rules (find it here).
