"I do not know what side of this you fall on, but your mask protected us from probable certain death. For that, you have my thanks." Coda nods at his companions, a silent thanks for their company.
OOC:
All good.

Maenor shifts from foot to foot, impatient to be off. As soon as Coda has finished he heads back to the entrance and their waiting guide.

The white-haired goblin is still there, patiently waiting. The campsite has been cleared and the reins of your horses are held in its hand. "If you are ready, I will fulfill my promise," it says. "We will be traveling for several days into the desert. I am sorry that it will take so long, but we will not be taking the direct route; less chance of discovery. You have enough supplies?"
Oct 13, 2017 1:26 pm
"I think so," Kalis replies, already looking through his pack to make sure.

"I'm not so sure I do...I have three for myself and ten for Maribel, so I don't have enough make it several days and only have enough for Maribel and not the others. If we're traveling through a desert though, food isn't my largest concern; I don't know these deserts but where I'm from, we'll hardly last a day with only these waterskins—especially with animals. Coda looks at the white-haired goblin "Perhaps you can persuade me otherwise, as they are your deserts and you know them better than I, but I think we should take the more direct route. You said less chance of discovery through the desert, meaning we still have a chance to get discovered. So why face certain death of dehydration if we still have a chance to be caught? I'd take the higher chance of discovery than fighting nature."
Oct 16, 2017 9:32 am
Maenor quirks an eyebrow, "I think we should follow his advice. Surely there is a way to bring enough water...perhaps we can search for some extra waterskins amongst the wreckage?"
Oct 16, 2017 1:07 pm
"Desert?" Kalis says, as if just realizing where they will be going, "Oh yes, I think that some more water would be a good idea. I've read that the greatest danger of desert travel is dehydration, so we'd best stock up now!"
Oct 16, 2017 4:21 pm
The white-haired goblin nods. "Very well. You may look through the remains of the wagons to see if anything can be salvaged." It turns and starts navigating the way out of the woods, heading in the general direction of the ruined caravan.

Tiredly, Maenor rubs the back of his neck when he is struck with a sudden realization, "I have a spell! I can ask for the blessing of water. We need not carry extra."
OOC:
Thanks, GM. :)

"That doesn't solve the problem that we don't have enough feed for the horses; grass isn't known to grow vastly in the desert, they can't graze as they've been since we've got them. Coda pauses "I don't mind being a bit hungry throughout the journey but I think it is wrong to make the animals go through the same."
Oct 18, 2017 6:59 pm
The white-haired goblin looks at everyone in turn. "There may be some plants your horses could eat, but you are correct; it is a desert," it says, aware of the impending decision and looking apologetic at having nothing else to add.
Oct 19, 2017 1:10 am
"Is there anything we can pack to feed to our horses while we travel?" Kalis asks, being woefully ignorant of all things horse related.
Oct 19, 2017 9:29 am
"Perhaps we should consider leaving the horses here?"
Oct 19, 2017 12:51 pm
"If we are in no rush, give me ten minutes, I can give a voice to the voiceless." Coda takes a seat again.
OOC:
If agreed upon, I'll ritual cast speak with animals.
Oct 19, 2017 5:59 pm
The white-haired goblin does not rush you. The horses and Maribel also wait patiently.
OOC:
Assuming there are no interruptions, the spell takes effect.

The horses snort and stamp their hooves, then whinny. Maribel, however, only gives a nicker and steps closer to Coda.

Coda nods to the horses followed by giving Maribel a couple pats

With another pat to Maribel, Coda turns back to the group "My worries have been eased. Maribel follows, the others wish to remain in their home—in the hills and grass."

Maenor nods, and begins removing tack from the horses.
