Maenor exchanges an inquisitive look with Kalis, unsure which direction to go. He begins heading toward one of the doors on the north wall, hoping that Coda will redirect him if he's guessing wrong.

"Awp-Awp, Friend-Maenor" Coda calls out quietly "I'd advise having a plan, there is something here I've never seen before--a half-man, half-lion and a handful of, what I believe to be the dog-men. Going in there unprepared could spell trouble."

Maenor stops, turns, and walks back into the pantry...thinking back on what he knows of such creatures.

The man turns his head towards the third voice, and realizes there's nobody there. Frowning, he looks back at the two he can see. "That's the Master he's talking about, the man-lion. That thing rules the jackalweres and takes us as slaves. Whichever one of you is Maenor, you're already in trouble. I still insist, get out while you can before he takes you, too."
Maenor has heard of such creatures before, and recalls that lamias are wicked and cruel monsters. They are rumored to seduce and enchant their victims, rendering them pliable to their will and dominating them as slaves. Some texts reference a lamia's association with jackalweres, shapeshifting creatures that can switch forms between a human or a jackal, or something in-between.

Maenor quickly and quietly explains what he knows as soon as they reach the pantry and are out of earshot of the cook. He suggests, "I think we should take out the monster first, for it is far more dangerous than its minions. That we have heard and seen no sign may mean that they yet slumber."

Coda raises his hand, pointlessly "I have seen them and they but sleep in the room over; those that slumber can easily be woke. I do not think it is beneficial to fight this "the Master" and his slave dogmen."

As the party reconvenes in the pantry, Kalis can remember much the same as Maenor, though a lamia's association with jackalweres is new to him.

Coda shakes his head, again pointlessly not really grasping the whole concept of being invisible "Not what I was saying. I simply think we need a new plan of attack. Charging in there, weapons drawn, hungry for blood will surely put at least one of us in an early grave or worse, leave us as one of his mindless slaves. The only problem is I'm at a standstill of other options."

Maenor quirks and eyebrow and asks, "Who said anything about charging? We sneak in, I cast Silence on the bedchamber, and we take out the Master without the others having any idea of what happened."

Coda smiles, less pointlessly as you can hear it slightly in his tone "Well, why didn't you start with that? That is definitely a good option, one that I am in favor of."

Meanor smiles slightly and continues, "The two of you will need to stay outside the area of silence to cast your spells. I will do my best to keep the monster inside."

Maenor looks at each of them, and barring any further comments, heads out the door back into the kitchen.

The man is at the island, cutting loaves of bread. He glances over at Maenor's reappearance, and with a shake of his head resumes his knife-work. He makes no effort at initial conversation, nor does he appear to deviate from his tasks, and otherwise seems indifferent to Maenor's presence.
