He then follows, humming to himself. As soon as he can hear himself he drops the original spell and recasts it centered on the new room.

OOC:
Also, I'm down 15 hp. Not that I mind if you want him to be magically healed, but want to play it honest.
Feb 10, 2018 3:14 am
Kalis moves closer to get a better angle and takes a deep breat, holding it to steady his shaky hands. Holding his right arm straight out, he summons the power of his draconic blood and feels a ball of fire form on his hand. Exhaling, he releases the energy and the fire streaks toward the Lamia.

Rolls

Firebolt - (1d20+6, 1d10)

1d20+6 : (13) + 6 = 19

1d10 : (6) = 6

Feb 11, 2018 3:53 am
The ranged attacks assail the lamia, chasing him as he tries to gain more distance. For a brief moment, he can hear the crackle of the fire and the impacts of his paws, and he opens his mouth to roar.

Nothing happens. Maenor's divine silence drops upon the lamia like a shroud. Bloodied, burnt, and bruised, the lamia looks worse for wear. He appears to snarl and bounds for the north hallway, trying to flee.

Maenor drops the spell and dashes after the creature, closing the distance to try and prevent its escape.

Kalis follows Maenor's lead and rushes into the room after him.
OOC:
Took the dash action!
Feb 13, 2018 5:13 am
Coda moves forward in a panic, watching his party charge forward "No, he is going to wake his dog-men; we can't take on all of them, we need to leave or we'll be overrun...or at least reevaluate our game plan, we are too out in the open."
OOC:
Dash action to get inbetween Kalis and Maenor so I don't need to shout then using the rest of my movement to make my way back.
Feb 16, 2018 8:03 pm
Maenor re-engages the lamia, who turns around to face the cleric. With a now-audible snarl, it lashes out to try and swat the elf away. Maenor manages to deflect the large claw with his shield, but the effort taxes him enough that he cannot avoid the lamia's hand (18 vs AC 17, no damage). The strike is less of a slap and more like a gentle clasp upon Maenor's shoulder, but the effect is decidedly felt. Maenor has a chill pass through his body. It is less like temperature and more like an unsettled feeling that distracts and addles his mind.

Kalis and Maenor can see an unoccupied room beyond the lamia, full of empty bedrolls and several crates of personal effects and lamps. They also see a moment of realization cross the lamia's face, most likely aware that the arcane silence is no longer there.
OOC:
Maenor is cursed! You have disadvantage on all ability checks and Wisdom saving throws.

Not wanting to accidentally hit Maenor, Kalis turns to a spell that's a bit more accurate and three bolts of magical energy dart out from his hand to assail their foe.

Rolls

Magic Missile - (3d4+3)

(244) + 3 = 13

Feb 23, 2018 3:58 pm
The missiles unerringly strike the lamia, who looks like he's on his last leonid legs.
OOC:
Kalis, your journey through the desert took a few days, and I don't recall you taking any damage or casting spells prior to this combat. You should be full up on HP and sorcery points, and have 3 1st-level spell slots remaining.
Feb 24, 2018 4:54 pm
OOC:
Yeah, I couldn't remember for sure, and I haven't had the time to scroll back through pages of posts (thought I had intended to before my next round. I'll go ahead and fix it up :)
Feb 25, 2018 2:33 am
No longer able to silence the creature magically, Maenor lunges forward with his sword, sinking it into the creature's side.

Feb 26, 2018 5:42 pm
Coda watches as his compatriots charge forward, he takes in a deep breath before letting out a sigh and doing the same. He stares at the lamia "I'd be running too, if I sucked as much as you!"
OOC:
Vicious MockeryWisdom DC 14

Rolls

Psychic damage on Failure. - (1d4)

(1) = 1

Feb 26, 2018 8:35 pm
Already heavily wounded, Coda's words sting the lamia (Wisdom save 6 vs DC 14, failure). He roars, partly out of frustration and mostly out of fear. He then looks down at Maenor and, accompanied by a flash of arcane light, says, "Save me."

In a louder voice, he roars, "SAVE ME!" and tries to bound out of Maenor's reach to head north into the large room.

Smoke begins to billow along the ceiling from the room to the east as the pillows and furniture go up in flames.
OOC:
The lamia casts Charm Person upon Maenor. Maenor must make a DC 13 Wisdom save on a straight d20 roll, because the disadvantage from the curse negates the advantage from being an elf and being in combat.

If Maenor succeeds on the saving throw, he may make an Opportunity Attack.

Maenor's eyes widen as the lamia's words reach him, but he shakes his head slowly and responds, "I think not," as he lashes out with his blade.

As the creature tries to flee, he doggedly follows and attacks again.

OOC:
Do we know the nature of the supplies we were to escort, which are presumably somewhere in this warren?
Feb 27, 2018 12:57 am
OOC:
You were only told that a wagon of supplies was earmarked for the Pale. Unfortunately, Rhiann didn't tell you what specifically was being transported.
The lamia snarls, desperately trying to get away. "No!" he manages to squeal as Maenor's blade nearly severs his back leg, and he falls in a heap. He barely brings his face up in time to see the elf descending like the angel of death itself.
OOC:
Go ahead and describe your finishing blow!
Feb 27, 2018 10:02 am
Maenor plunges his sword into the creature's chest, bisecting its heart. He holds it there while the light dies from its face, then pulls it free and turns briskly to his comrades and says, "The fire, quickly! We must put it out before it spreads."
