Hello, everyone!

I'm a new player here, but I have massive PbP experience and am not afraid of using it here. I prefer custom worlds and character-driven stories to DnD and premade campaigns, but can play in almost everything if I like the setting, intro, and role. Personally enjoy playing characters-on-their-place-in-the-world much more than a generic member of another party going somewhere. I adore dark fantasy, steampunk \ cyberpunk, noir, and good old drama. Don't need to always win in order to enjoy the process.

And I'm not a native eng speaker but I'm trying my best to practice and become better soon.

If you have a story for me, I'm looking forward to hearing about it!

Welcome. I would not have guessed you were not a native English speaker.

Reminds me of one of the things I really like about Yesterday's Tomorrow, every player provides a reason their character was selected for the mission at hand, and an obstacle they are uniquely suited to deal with, so no one is left as the odd-one-out (and the GM does not need to intuit what they want to do and why they picked that role:). It is very elegant.

Sounds really interesting, but I meant something else; I was talking about two different cases: for example, a detective joins the expedition—even if he is handpicked and investigates corporate fraud in the process, which is better than a random party draft, but still not the second option—or the detective works his regular cases in the district. I prefer the last one: when characters are in their places, but an expedition, ofc, can also be sometimes satisfying.

Welcome, Akkarin!

Your name sounded vaguely familiar so I googled it and are you named after the character from Trudi Canavan's Black Magician trilogy? I remember reading those books, but ages ago.

I’ve picked the nickname ages ago and it kind of stayed around, but originally it was from Black Magician, you’ve guessed it right. Not so great trilogy, but apparently one day long ago I was insanely impressed : 3
