The drought has stolen the lake, revealing secrets long buried beneath its waters. Among the cracked earth and skeletal ruins, a bell tower rises, its rusted form defying time. At dusk, the bell rings, though no wind stirs its motion, and strange lights flicker across the desolate expanse.

The villagers, once blessed with peace and prosperity, now live in fear as the land withers and neighbors vanish without a trace. Desperation drives them to seek help from wandering souls with sharp wits and steady resolve.

What calls from the depths of the lakebed? What stories lie etched into its ruins? Will your choices restore balance, or awaken something best left forgotten?

The Pitch:

The villagers, once blessed with peace and prosperity, now live in fear as the land withers and neighbors vanish without a trace. Desperation drives them to seek help from wandering souls with sharp wits and steady resolve.

This adventure takes place in medieval America around 1500 or so and will combine elements of creeping dread, moral uncertainty, and the thrill of discovery; ideal for players seeking an eerie and engaging journey.

The System: Tiny Cthulhu which emphasizes flexible and efficient gameplaying, leaving more room for an RP-heavy game. There will be a few minor changes in the rules to accommodate the PBP format and time period. I can provide pregens if you don't have the rules, and those are easily explained in a few paragraphs. 2d6's provide the basic mechanic.

The Length: Three months, maybe a little more.

When? I'm thinking mid-January to start.

Number of players? Three to four.

Posting Rate: Reliably three times/week.

"phnglui mglwnafh Cthulhu Rlyeh wgahnagl fhtagn"
I'd like to believe that I'm the only sane man in a crazy world, but it might be the case that I'm a crazy man in a sane world I can't tell anymore.
Yes, I would like to join this adventuring group and learn why the bell rings.

I've never played Tiny anything (I do have the rulebook for this one though), or been in a Windy GM game! Sign me up!

A Windy game! I'll play if there's room and I haven't punched your characters too often in my own games...

I learned a new word today: "Windy Game." I got curious and looked it up. Google took a little coaxing to give me a result that wasn't a weather report, but eventually, I did find this article about the subject.  https://guides-games.com/windy-game/ The glossy brochure does include a periphery of pleasantly playable platitudes.

Returning to this game, you had my interest at Cthulhu. But rereading the pitch this morning, I see that the time and place are America around 1500. (In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue.) So that means this happens right when the first wave of conquistadors is landing.

Does this mean Wattle-and-daub huts aren't your jam?

Not at all don't misunderstand I'm all in for the period piece and all its historical novelties.

I learned something new as well lol. What we meant by "Windy game" is that Windyridge is often a player in our games, but doesn't run many, so its a rare occasion to play in one of her games.

I’d like to play if there are spots open and I have the book! Also, I did play Psybermagi’s tiny shattered lands game and I’m now in the Tiny frontiers game. So, I’m familiar with the system.

Having had the privilege of playing in one of her games, I heartily recommend doing so.

You're the last one in. Welcome @microtheMacroBear. I'll close the interest check now. Keep your eyes peeled in a few weeks for the game to be setup. @Nepets. Do you have the book?

Thanks for the kind words @ForeverDED!

No, I don't currently own the books, and this is my first exposure to the tiny D6 system. But I'm a quick study, so I'll be able to pick it up and put a character together when the group is ready to start. I'm looking forward to returning to the Cthulhu University and joining a new gaming group.
