Well mojo.bojo as much as I like your posting and all but with no Gamers Plane experience, I have to decline as it is the very reason that I declined Xcylla. Thanx for posting.

Edit: Araklusta has been accepted for the game.

I am interested if you are still taking players

Well. mathias0077. You appear to have a solid background. Welcome and yes. I'm looking for two more even after you. Do apply to the game if that is what you want.

Cool, thanks. I have been wanting to play this module since I got back into playing last year.

A GM with no Gamer’s Plane experience refusing to take players due to no Gamer’s Plane experience is a new one on me!

Can you offer something in the way of guarantee that our wonderful players won’t be left high and dry in a few weeks time?

Are we going to do the 4d6 for ability scores? I am thinking a rouge or ranger.

mathias0077. Please refer to the Game information as it details character creation for the game. I don't show that you have actually applied to the game although you do have the "GREEN LIGHT".

KCC. I don't believe my experience here on the Gamers Plane should reflect on my DM'ing experience. I don't think it is exceptionally rare to have a DM not want to take on newbies or players they feel unexperienced either.

My thoughts are for the long haul.

Edit: mathias0077 has joined the game.

I'm still interested. Excited about the module. I can post 2X a day.

Grendar. Thanx for the interest but like Xcylla & mojo.bojo, I decline for lack of Gamers Plane experience.

Dunno, mate. I think it's quite rare. I've been on GP for five years and can't remember someone explicitly rejecting new members before. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, it's just that the usual etiquette is to encourage new members to join in games. We were all new here once and a kind DM took a chance on us*, so it's considered polite to return the favour.

But, your game, your rules. LMoP is a classic and I hope you have a great game.
* Thanks, Qralloq.

I think KCC was just pointing out players may have the same reservation about your commitment since you are equally new.

I think it's a bit odd you mention not wanting to take on inexperienced players, but you're running LMoP -- which is very much a perfect place for beginning players to start.

Beyond that, I second what Adam said -- It's pretty uncommon here, but it's your show. Have a blast!

Well Adam. We will see as the internal pie gets devoured. I have obtained three fine players of my wanted five players now. I really look to having a really super fine game as it will require a substantial a bit of extended time to achieve. I'm absolutely looking forward to that and sincerely hope to have collected fine players that are like minded. Thanx for any support.

MaJunior. Anything that I would say would just as much substance as the wind it took to say it. Time & trust are most valuable tools at hand. I put forth the effort, so I dream that something real comes from it.

I think everyone is excited about new games, particularly D&D 5e. It's natural for a game such as LMoP, which has had lots of positive reviews as a fine module, to get attention.

That being said, the moderators ask that from here on out, let's keep this thread clean for actual interested potential players.

Thank you.

The curtain rose on the game.

I have multiple players post less than positive post and some outright negative on my game thread. There are no words that I can speak that can undo what each does. The end result is to transform an easy game to field a party to dead game. Why these posts weren't sent to me privately as not to kill my game is unknown to me.

Moderators please just close and end this thread.

The curtain falls.

If you need a replacement character, I'm up for it.

I'm totally down. Sign me up!

Could this possibly lead to Shattered Obelisk?

@DireHalfling, you might want to read this last post by the offering GM.

That's unfortunate. I recommend ignoring the negativity. There's a lot of people here who enjoy the game and would love to see how you'd run it.

As a DM, I would ignore any sort of negativity. The fact of the matter is this:

Your players are on your side and support you. As the DM, while you "play" the bad guy, you are on the players side.

I say, go on with your game. Start it right up. All these people who want to play are there to encourage you in your DMing career..
