I like adventure anthologies to fill in gaps in WotC adventures - the sort you find on DMs' guild or Drive Thru RPG.

The Adventurers' Guild stuff is often good as it slots directly into adventure storylines, but I have a soft spot for uncaged and ran some of the chapters on here. Chapters 1 and 2 of my current Saltmarsh game are very loosely based on Uncaged's Weeping Woman (La Llorona).

I play only DnD 5e, but I find that an interesting adventure structure can be converted fairly easily, so I'm not too bothered about following the mechanics. Besides, I tend to skim most of the words and only look at the pictures.

What are your favourite anthologies/adventure series? Are there any other gems out there?

I like using little tidbits from all the D&D sourcebooks to fill in my own devious ideas.
However, I've learned to read other adventures and pull pieces out of them.

Keys from the Golden Vault is a good example. It's easy to use any one of the chapters as a side quest.

I haven't looked into it, but it seems it should be easy to do with any premade adventure pack.

I kickstarted Helinas Guide to Monster Hunting, just as the OGL fiasco took speed, so I shelved and forgot about it, but was reminded of it recently. It contains 10 hunts with investigation and preparation leading up to the monster confrontation (and a lot of rules for crafting items from monster ect, but I'm going to ignore those for now).
Its short and simple, with severe punishment if you don't pay attention to the clues.
I'm looking forward to running some of the adventures.

Frog God Games' Quests of Doom is a great collection of adventures! I use them with my Swords and Wizardry (Original Dungeons and Dragons clone) games, and they come in 5e as well! The first book is organized into adventures by monster type, though the following are not. These are good, challenging adventures. Their goal is to make adventures with a first edition feel.

Also, it's a bit of a joke that the numbering scheme makes no sense. QoD 2 is 5e only, and I think many of the quests were reprinted in both QoD 3 and 4 for S&W. Talk about a headache!

I have that book, but haven't really looked at it yet. I keep meaning to see if I can smash it into Waterdeep Dragon Heist to give that module some... y'know... heists.

A successful WDH on GP is on my bucket list and I really love Waterdeep.

I never really got back into running pre-written adventures since I returned to the hobby around 2000. I always ran homebrew til my group switched from Pathfinder to 5e. But in my Pathfinder days I found the GM's Miscellany series by Raging Swan Press, particularly Dungeon Dressing, Urban Dress, and Wilderness Dressing, to be just full of amazing inspiration and additional detail.

If you like random tables those are a goldmine of detail. I spun an entire adventure from the description of a single ruined arch that I grabbed from table just to add some description to the side of the road on a journey between actual campaign locations.

I hear a lot of good things about Raging Swan Press!

Which reminds me, those Kobold Press books of adventures are absolute gold. Often a little more Gonzo than I think your games are, Adam, but KP knows how to make adventures. And monsters. Just not classes or spells.

https://i.imgur.com/YAZlO9m.jpegA lot of fun was had with this particular bundle of adventures! Looping the Flood really cemented my place on the site, and it got me playing a lot of different games that I wouldn’t have otherwise played!

The Chaos Crew was formed on the back of this set of adventures.
