The PitchThis is a Sword and Sorcery adventure with cosmic undertones, written with incredible detail as to make everything feel connected and alive. You'll have free rein to explore a massive peninsula hexcrawl, with dungeons and monsters aplenty! An adventure path will give you direction, but ultimately it is up to you to make the decisions in this game! You can go hunt cave demons, sightsee with caravans, punch slavers, save damsels, and so much more! The world is your dire arctic oyster!
Safety & TriggersThis game includes slavery (as something to be looked down upon and stopped), violence, possible/likely character death, all sorts of beasties like spiders and snakes, open water and possible drowning, and weirdly realistic cult recruiting techniques. Though terrible things may happen in the game, I do not condone them in real life. We will not include sexual assault or violence against children. Violence against animals is a trope, but to be fair the animals will probably initiate violence against you first.
ExpectationsThis is a longer game that can potentially take OD&D characters from first level to well into the double digits. There will be dungeon crawls, there will be overland exploration, and there will be in-town adventures and intrigue. The players will need to be self-motivated, though plenty of opportunities will be handed directly to them. This is expected to be a long-term campaign, which means it will last well over a year and likely closer to several.
Posting should be once per day, weekends optional. I am an avid skier and backpacker, so my weekends are often packed with adventure; I do, however, try to get necessary posts in when I can as to avoid stagnation. I would expect the same commitment from the players.
Who May ApplyThis game is open to anyone who wishes to partake! I am looking for six players, and will use my own esoteric methods of determining who will end up in the party. I will not accept anyone who exhibits racism, sexism, or a blatant disregard for someone's existence; players may be removed without warning should they exhibit this after being admitted. This table is intentionally inclusive, and intended to be a safe place.
If you are interested in playing a game Rules-as-Written (RAW), this is not the game for you. I tend to play very loosey-goosey with the rules, and have selected an exciting list of Houserules for the game. This game runs on vibes.
How to ApplyApplying is the easiest part of this game! Reach out here, via Discord, or PM/DM me! I just need to know what is your favorite meal to eat after a long, cold day. Also, I accept bribes.
