Any suggestions of another possible like site similar to this one.

Rather have player suggestions than anything random google would have to feed me. Which is why I am asking that question. I wish suggestions not redirection or rude opinions about the question.

I've heard very good things about MythWeaver. I had a quick look at it and thought it looked good. I'd miss the character sheets and other tools on here, although it might be possible to tampermonkey some replacements.

rpggeek has some play by post games

I just want to offer my humble opinion.
I’ve been on many other sites, including those mentioned. They’re all fine, but - GP is the best of the bunch, IMO. It’s just easier to use, the interface is better, and maybe more importantly, it’s just more active. Different strikes for different folks, but if it saves some time, this site is simply the best of the many I’ve played on.
FWIW.

I agree 100%.

I concur. I made accounts on many of the other, "larger", sites, and could not find a game for months. Even when I did, I was either fifth out of a class of four or the DM decided not to continue. This site is the only one where I can consistently find activity and people with whom to play. Do I wish there was more 1ed? Of course! But the variety of rules systems that pops up here on a weekly basis, and the sheer activity, is what sets GP apart in my experience.

I agree that GP is the best with the others nowhere nearly as good. Mythweavers comes in second, in my experience, but it has many drawbacks or did when I was active there many years ago. It might have changed since then though.

Survivor bias is a thing. The people here prefer GP, that's why they're on GP. No doubt MythWeavers users think their site is better. That's why they're there.

I can see why some people might prefer a WYSIWYG html editor, but I like BBCode for its efficiency and power. I think the new MW is marginally prettier than GP, although neither are going to win design awards.

My impression of MW was the same as Abraham's - that it was harder to get a game. And you can have the prettiest editor and interface in the world, but it's worthless without a game.

Interesting. Looking for options. RPGnet? Rondaksportal? Any opinion on them.

Mate, I think you are going to have to venture over to those sites and dip your toe in the waters yourself.

I was on Rolegate.com for a while. It has some interesting features and an app if you want to put it on your phone or tablet

Honestly, I "left" another site to come here. I still game on the other site, as I’m in an active game that started in 2019, but will never join another game there.

I like the layout of this site much better. It’s easy to see when new games are available, and there’s a variety of systems. I love rules-lite and weird indie stuff, but it seems there’s always DnD and such for those more into that (which I suspect is Most People).

I really love how much can be done artistically with Character Sheets and rolls. The snippet option is fun for displaying enemy HP as a Street Fighteresque health bar, and throwing in a spoiler fulla battle music found on YouTube is a nice touch.

But that said, the best part about GP is that I feel people are, for the most part, generally respectful and welcoming here. That isn’t the case everywhere on the internet, so I’m grateful to @Dmbrainiac for pointing this site out!

Like crazybirdman, I personally don’t know of a better gaming site (and I won’t warn you about the "worse" ones because that would be an awful thing to do), so if GP isn’t doing the trick for you, you’ll have to explore.

It's been a loooong time since I've played pbp anywhere else. But before I played at GP, I had tried a bunch of other pbp forums, including the bigger names mentioned here.

The only one that I would consider going back to is/was called "Unseen Servant".

But nothing else that I'm aware of is anything "like" GP, particularly with regards to the dice rollers and character sheet capabilities and macros and things and the community.

That's very true. I imagine many people use the character sheets here, for games on other sites and IRL.

If the character sheets worked offline I'd be using it for everything, notes character sheets ect.

Tavern-Keeper was very close, feature-side, but unfortunately the dev is long gone and the community is in tatters.

RPOL was my other site for a while. It was very easy to get into games there. It was also very easy to find yourself with no games, as many weren't great and the rest tended to get ghosted fast. They didn't seem to have the same supportive community that we do, which I partially attribute to our success.

rpol.net is a whole 'nuther ball of wax, though -- I must admit it's been many years since I played over there. Was a real bastion of solo games for a while. (What people now tend to call duets.)
