Multi story thread player notifications

I run a game, Tiny Intro, for people to get familiar with role playing, PbP, gamersplane, etc. many of the individual are in totally separate stories.

Is there any way to make it do that players only get activity notifications for select threads?

I believe if I created separate forums within the game for each story and limited the permissions there it would work. But that is a lot of overhead to maintain for this high of s turn over game.

Players should only get notifications for forums and threads they actively subscribe to. So, so long as you aren't trying to prevent them from being able to see the other threads you don't need to do anything for 'notifications'.

Being in the game does means their homepage will be filled with the other threads in that game. So if that is what you mean by 'notifications' then you will have to set all forums to be invisible to everyone, and selectively add the players you want to see each to each. This does mean the public can not see read along with the game.

It is possible that using the bookmark/favourite/star mechanism players can stop the game from showing up for them on the frontpage of the site. But then they won't see their threads either.

Your situation is a little unique, I don't think the site can do what you want. You have what would usually be separate games all mashed into one.
