My character will be Ashis Misra, a convenience store owner who inherited it as a family business. He lives with his joint family of 5 members. His elder brother and his wife teach in a school while their parents live a retired life, occasionally helping him with the store. Although he has graduated, Ashis tried his level best to crack a government recruitment job in the public sector, but he has failed in the attempt. Running the store gives him far less free time, but he still manages to run a local roleplaying game club with one of his friends who owns a hobby store business for toys and boardgames. Running an imaginary world and telling a collaborative story for the younger minds brings him the most joy in his lonely, unfulfilled life. Something to escape this harsh reality. Somewhere he can become something more than what he really is.
One night, he was returning after closing the store, deep in thought about the story of the current campaign he was running for a new group. A new king was supposed to be crowned in the city, but the potential candidates were all targeted by a cult who wanted to usher in a reign of theocracy. He was crossing a bridge, totally oblivious to a speeding car that was coming in his direction. It took some time for him to realize that he was struck and thrown out of the bridge. He fell into the stream running below and lost his consciousness, never knowing that he would not come back anymore.
I am going to play as Rone Kanterine, a swashbuckler. His background is merchant, and I think his backstory will be that he is the illegitimate child of a noble who was disavowed and later taken up by a struggling merchant family.
