First PC Post! :)

I initially thought about playing as the psychic, but it seems too complicated for now. So, I will be taking swashbuckler instead.

Alright, now that we're all here, let's start making some characters! Follow the rules as normal for creating a 1st-level character. As you are playing a version of yourself, you can either choose a background that relates to who you were on Earth or who your new persona is on Golarion. You can spend your starting gold on equipment, but you won't have access to it when you first arrive in the world. You'll appear in whatever clothes you were wearing when you pulled into Golarion from Earth, but you'll find your starting gear shortly thereafter.

Your characters will remember everything from their lives on Earth. For all intents and purposes, that Earth is the same as the one we live in, except that there is no Pathfinder roleplaying game. You will find yourselves in an unfamiliar fantasy world with magic and mystery! Exploring and learning will be part of the fun.

If anybody has a favorite part of Golarion in which they might want to adventure, let me know and I'll try to potentially work it in at some point. If not, that's okay too. I'll decide myself in that case. :)

For reference, here is what everybody listed as their character concepts in the recruitment thread:

Carabas: Human Aiuvarin Summoner or Rogue (Sorcerer or Medic Dedication)
C1NDER: Human Investigator or Kineticist
Madclergy: Dwarf Wizard
Stalker05: Human Swashbuckler

So this being an isekai game, I was wondering when it will start. I mean, our characters have backgrounds, so they must have worked in Golarion for a few years at least. Or do you want to start on the day you stumbled upon Golarion's soils?

My idea is that we will begin immediately after you are drawn into the world. You suddenly find yourselves in a strange place, in strange bodies, with strange people around who seem to be similarly shocked. How do you react?

That sort of thing. :)

The backgrounds represent your new bodies innate training. That’s why you start with class abilities as well and know how to use them on an instinctive, reactive leve. More details about how and why you can use these abilities may be revealed later in the game.

I think taking the Summoner instead of Rogue is probably best for party survivability.

Does anybody else have any kind of in or out of combat healing?

Hey, I have a weird issue. The PF2 character sheet won't open for me. It just keeps trying to load.

It's a known bug, here is the fix they posted:
Adam says:
Here's one for Pathfinder 2e.
https://gamersplane.com/forums/thread/21532/?p=1009699#p1009699

Open it up and click "Create Character"

Create a new custom sheet and select Pathfinder 2e in the top RHS

Character submitted...

What are we doing for character names?
Feb 9, 2025 1:30 pm
You could either use your Earth name or the name you plan to call yourself on Golarion, your choice.

For those of you who are ready, feel free to tell us a little about who your characters were on Earth and what they were doing just before being drawn into the mystic tunnel to Golarion.

My character, Mathias, was shopping for a birthday present when he took a turn down an aisle that led him to Golarion. He's a father of two, works a desk job, and his hobbies are video games, movies, gardening, and writing.

I'm going with Kineticist, which seems to have a lot of options for how to build them. If we are going to have a summoner, wizard, and swashbuckler, he might benefit by going with some of the more defensive/support options.

My character will be Ashis Misra, a convenience store owner who inherited it as a family business. He lives with his joint family of 5 members. His elder brother and his wife teach in a school while their parents live a retired life, occasionally helping him with the store. Although he has graduated, Ashis tried his level best to crack a government recruitment job in the public sector, but he has failed in the attempt. Running the store gives him far less free time, but he still manages to run a local roleplaying game club with one of his friends who owns a hobby store business for toys and boardgames. Running an imaginary world and telling a collaborative story for the younger minds brings him the most joy in his lonely, unfulfilled life. Something to escape this harsh reality. Somewhere he can become something more than what he really is.

One night, he was returning after closing the store, deep in thought about the story of the current campaign he was running for a new group. A new king was supposed to be crowned in the city, but the potential candidates were all targeted by a cult who wanted to usher in a reign of theocracy. He was crossing a bridge, totally oblivious to a speeding car that was coming in his direction. It took some time for him to realize that he was struck and thrown out of the bridge. He fell into the stream running below and lost his consciousness, never knowing that he would not come back anymore.

I am going to play as Rone Kanterine, a swashbuckler. His background is merchant, and I think his backstory will be that he is the illegitimate child of a noble who was disavowed and later taken up by a struggling merchant family.

This weekend got away from me, but I am working on my character. I hope to have it finished up tonight or tomorrow at the latest.

I am still sticking with the Dwarven Wizard, but I am not sure yet where I will land for the free archetype.

Alright, once everybody has finished creating their character, we will begin.

I've been feeling a bit under the wheather these past few days, with flueish symptoms.
But I fealt a bit better this evening, so I finally sat down around 11 to write this introduction post, pretty much instantly fell asleep, and as it is now past 2 am, I'm gonna give it another go tomorrow morning.

Having been born with a severe congenital heart defect, Michel's life path didn't exactly go into the direction he wanted it to. He tried to not let it keep him down and make the most of life though.

In his early 50s, he'd already lived far longer than even the most optimistic doctor would have predicted in his youth.

He's not having the best of days though. Having to have gotten up three hours earlier than normal, and wearing the exhausting extra layers of winter clothes because of the freezing cold is bad enough, but while most medical examinations are just a routine for him, a bronchoscopy is always its own special kind of BS.

And that was before he fell asleep in the waiting room and woke up in a strange place with vague memories of also being a medic called Mirandel, who worked for some mercenary company.

@Dmbrainiac Will we be using free archetype rule?
Feb 14, 2025 3:26 pm
Yes, but you won't have to commit to an archetype until you reach level 2.
