Charles was a Scavenger - though thanks to his family connections, a singular one, one who had the luxury of being able to search for specific things - mostly tech, especially unusual tech. He found that he had a gift for identifying Arsaidh tech, most of which got passed along to his family, who were collectors of such. It also got him into trouble - some unknown faction had decided that they didn't like the competition, and had him arrested on false charges. Thanks to his family, who ought a decent enough lawyer, Charles managed to get out on appeal after a year or so inside. Knowing that there was someone still out there gunning for him, Charles took the opportunity his family's money accorded, and got out as fast as he could. Having managed to buy his way onto the next ship to Karum Station, he hopes that trouble hasn't followed him, and that he can continue his search for weird alien tech.
