A little thing regarding the Drow posts: is it OK to ask you to add quotemarks ("") around direct speech in addition to the bold formatting, as there are situations under which it's difficult for me to discern only the latter?

You mean the goliath? Sure! Actually, there were quotemarks in direct speech, but as she said multiple paragraphs I forgot to close and reopen them with the linebreaks.

I'm looking at Greta's reply, and I'm thinking how to have Zix react. The more I think about some of the statements and equivocations, the more horrifying it looks to Zix from a moral philosophy PoV. Now, as a player, I don't really like Greta as a potential ally, but maybe she could be more interesting to me as Zix's rival. At a minimum, she seems

You could have Z act suspicious as to Greta's actual motives.

I'm not sure whether Zix is likely to be level-headed enough to dig that deep into analysis.

I removed the wink. I think it is better without it now. I was thinking of joking but I like your idea of a "rival" so the message seems better now, IMHO

Hey everyone, GM here — just wanted to pause for a quick check-in. I want to be super clear that I, as the GM, don’t personally agree with Greta’s views or her philosophy. But, alas, I have a story to tell and a character to paint, and Greta’s worldview — for better or worse — is part of that story. There’s every chance she’s on a path toward becoming a villain, or at least an antagonist.

That said, I care a lot about how you, the players (not the PCs), are feeling right now. Is everyone comfortable continuing? Would you like to fade to black and move forward? Or does anyone want to raise an X card if this conversation is hitting too close to home? No judgment either way — we’re here to have fun, not to stress anyone out. Let me know!

I'm totally fine and relish the thought exercise, but I'll defer to the others.

I'm comfortable continuing. I happened to be in the middle of replying, so I'd like to at least squeeze that in if we're jumping ahead.

All is cool with how you play Greta. I merely was in an unfortunate situation where I can either let her final implication remain voiced unopposed despite Zix disagreeing strongly, or oppose it verbally (but then being forced to point out what the issue with the implication is). So I went for the latter, and apologise if that was too grim, and may be non-enjoyable to other players.
I'm fine and eager to continue playing this scene and see where it heads. I would probably be a bit more confident (less nervous) about doing so after knowing if anyone has concerns about my RP of Zix in this dialogue (and future ones). I do have a response in mind that will now also address the rest of her stance, though it'll take a while to type it (once I get more free time to do it).

Also, I'm trying to not gloss over the nuance in Greta's stance, and if we continue, will try to make that clearer.

A thing about the process of steering away from unenjoyable events if the card gets invoked now or in the future: if possible and reasonable to request this, I would rather have such course changes be done forwards and not backwards (i.e. steer away from an action/event/topic, but avoid retcons or everyone pretending a thing didn't happen); if you'd like, I can elaborate and spell out the reasoning.

No problem. To be honest I haven't paid much attention to the discussion in the tavern as my focus was in the dueling club.

But hey, I'm playing a character who is trying not to be a flaming racist, trained by nazi-assassins and brought up to kill first & ask questions later.

There's some irony that Kiraen keeps getting telegraphed as this unscrupulous Übermensch, but actually mostly treats others decently, while the seemingly well-adjusted-to-Misthaven Greta gave a glimpse of a disregard for the difference between a smile and violence.

I do hope to also interact more with Kiraen regarding such topics (even if it might end up also getting into some heated stuff). I'm expecting that in some ways the characterisation will eventually live up to the foreshadowing.
