After boosting Sable through, Gann makes his way back to the door to help Wren. He unhooks his sword and slides it under the door just below where Wren is stuck. He's planning to use it as a lever to pull the door up just enough to get her free.

"Ready?" He whispers the question to her before committing.

Wren reaches down and undoes as many of the clasps holding her armor as she can, then she prepares to push or pull herself out, with Gann’s capable help!
OOC:
How about Gann rolls, since it’s he that’s applying the muscle here!

OOC:
If Wren is leaving some of her armor behind -and- Gann is helping, I think she can certainly get unstuck. I’ll still want a STR Save from Gann to see how well it goes, if equipment is damaged, etc. Remember to use your current STR value.

Question — is she wriggling into the cottage, or back out?

OOC:
Okay, rolling strength then

Wren wriggles into the cottage, leaving her armor behind. She whispers to Gann, Thanks friend!
Drag that aside and I hope to grab it on my way out."

Sable stealthily approaches the wriggling sack, holding his breath due to the smell and fear that the Brother will get them all killed. He moves quickly forward and wraps a hand around where he think the man's mouth is.

He whispers to the sack, "The Marchguard sent us to save you."

If he cannot quietly pick up the sack, he will drag it to the door. Out of the corner of his eye, he sees Wren's predicament and her miraculous entrance into the cottage. He will depend upon her to grab the Brother's belongings.

When Sable speaks lowly to the individual in the sack, whilst wrapping his hand around what he believes is the person's mouth, the captive shudders and is about to possibly loose a scream... until the prowler's words sink in. He feels tension in the big body he's pressed up against. Whoever is within starts breathing heavily, but they nod and seem as though they might cooperate. At least for now!

Across the room, Wren works herself free of her brig coat of plates and the underside of the massive door.

The mutton-chopped giant's snore rattles the place, and his stomach gurgles loudly before he shifts in his seat, suddenly chewing on some morsel he's found in his gums as he continues to doze.
OOC:
Reaction Result: Curious

Sable -- STR Save to reach the window or door. If this is the Brother in the sack, he's portly. Pulling him under the door will risk a Die of Fate roll, with a 1 seeing him stuck / too big to fit. Hoisting him to the window alone will require a separate STR Save.

If Wren plans to move into the cottage, to get the pack or quarterstaff, or to help Sable -- a DEX Save will be required.

Failing these says might mean you fail at the task (and have to try something else), or succeed but wake the giant.

Will have a think on next move, but just putting out there Sable’s strength is 5, should have stopped by a gym!

Wren attempts to move quietly across the cabin and grab the quarter staff. Then she turns to Sable and offers to help get the brother in the sack under the door.

Wren crosses the dirt floor quietly enough until she almost reaches the quarterstaff and pack, but something crunches underfoot as she fatefully puts a foot wrong. A thundering voice fills the cottage before the woman can even ponder what she stepped on.

The giant has woken, the snoring ceased! Standing up with effort that put a grimace on his enormous features, the bearded giant roared.

"WHO... GOES... THERE?! GOBLINSES! I TOLD YOU... TO STAY OFF... MY PROP-ER-TY!"

It's Wren he's looking at when he takes his first step forward, a staggering, booming step that shakes the building, emblematic of his anger. The woman's head might come up to the monster's mid-thigh if she stands on tip-toes, but she hardly sees the use in that.

Instead, the giant's thick fingers waggle in anticipation as he closes in...

"ONE MORE... TWO SCORE... THREE FOR... THE POT!"

Figuring things have gone south inside, Nessa tosses whatever sticks and stones she had picked up through the window to try and get the giants attention. Following that, she dashes towards the edge of the forest and hunkers down in her disguise.

This is so much fun to picture. =)

And sorry, forgot the Die of Fate roll last night. Made it this morning, and Sable is out in the open with the sack as they giant wakes!

Wren immediately gives up her attempt to grab staff and pack and bolts toward the door! Here’s hoping she can slide under quickly without getting stuck again!

As Sable heaves the portly man over his shoulder and prepares to exit, he hears a crunch. The giant wakes and staggers towards them faster than he expected, his fat fingers reaching towards them greedily.

Alas, the man is too heavy for Sable. Instead, he drops the sack rather roughly and pulls out his short sword. He swiftly cuts open the top so the man can run out on his own. He will wait by the sack, waiting for the man to come out and then roughly pull him to the door, using the sword to ward off the giant.

He growls out, "You don't want to eat us, we have fey magic already mixed up in us."

When Nessa throws the distractions at the window, he points his sword at it.

"That's our dragon friend now coming to get us."

"Oh here we go," Gann mutters to himself, and stands just aside from the door frame. He's near enough to help if someone gets stuck, but careful to be clear if it swings open suddenly.

He sees Nessa running off and considers joining her, but waits for his companions.

Another crashing step from the giant sends Wren scurrying, right back the way she came! With less armor on her now, she's hoping the passage under the door will be a quick one!
OOC:
There won't be a need to roll a Die of Fate; with less armor, you can pass under the door without the risk of getting stuck. But can she do it quickly enough to not be in the house as combat rounds begin?

Make a DEX Save, Wren. Success will mean you cross the floor and slip outside. Failure will mean you're still in the cottage as things heat up and I call for initiative rolls -- also a DEX Save. (So if you make the first DEX Save you're good to go; if you fail that first one, make another to see if you act before or after the giant. I'm playing a little fast and loose with the rule here -- you won't *lose your turn* if you fail the second check since we're in the middle of all this. No one is being surprised.)
