A worrying amount of black smoke billows into the sky as the troupe retreats further, breaking out of the trees as they reach the river they can follow all the way back to Brandonsford. When they can no longer hear the giant’s panicked, furious shouts, they know they are far enough away to take a moment to gather their wits and have a drink of water.

Resting for a few moments and having a drink of water restores lost HP but may leave the party exposed. Bandages can stabilize a character that has taken Critical Damage.
So anyone who has taken HP damage… that fades and you’re back to full. Attribute damage is a different story, as we’ve discussed (and mildly house-ruled) before.
