Your scanner's range is insufficient to pierce 30 stories of concrete, but you are pretty sure the 'heart', as you think of it, is not situated in the first half-dozen floors or so, maybe even the first full dozen. You shake the scanner and peer at it, there are strange readings closer than that, though, some above as well as those below in the dark.
The elevator beanstalk creaks as it continues to grow. It will provide a much easier path up the building. But skipping floors has its risks as well as its benefits. You know, from your previous jaunt into a break, that they can be unstable and may have a time-limit before they ... turn bad. But the people voluntarily going into the dark and then turning into goblins (you don't know if that part was voluntary, surely not?), as well as the knowledge of the regenerative abilities of the salamander are all fascinating. But, more importantly, who knows which tidbit of data could prove vital to your success. In a role-playing-game, the party having fore-knowledge that the troll or hydra needs to be fought with fire can make all the difference to whether they will or end up as hydra-poop.
• How high do you climb the beanstalk? Anyone should answer.
What do you do?
