Anyone interested in a Savage Worlds pulp campaign, set in 1937? Characters may come from any walk of life, but they will come together as a group that sets out to oppose the forces of evil. Things to expect include plenty of daring deeds, larger-than-life heroes and villains, cliffhangers, and plenty of action!

Pulp? Yes, of course!
Larger than life? Big times, lad.
Action, cliffhangers and villains? Yeah, gonna punch´em. *pow*
Savage Worlds? Always wanted to try. My revised gentlemans edition still waits for me.

Do you have more information? Length, post frequency …

I’m interested, but as a newb I’d need some guidance.

Is there a supernatural element?

Always interested in Savage Worlds.

I would definitely be in! While Savage Worlds is very flexible, it really shines in Pulp! gaming (and Space Opera, but that may be a personal preference).

@tergolap Savage Worlds is pretty beginner friendly and any of us here will be happy to help.

I’m definitely interested. Played in a few SW games on GP. My favourites are the Pulp ones, especially if they have an "investigator" theme, and i love anything set in the 1920’s to 1950’s

Pulp + SW > PB + J? YES. Looks like there's enough interest already, but if an opening comes up, I'd love to join.

Being a newb is not a barrier, @tergolap. I can teach you to play in a couple of posts, or I can do it the easy way and send you to this site and have you read the comic. It will explain almost everything you need to know. There will be investigation, and supernatural themes are not out of the question. Posting frequency will vary, mostly because my wife is blind and I serve as her eyes, reading and typing her emails, driving her places, etc. I try to post as often as all the players do, but on occasion, there may be delays in my posting. If I expect a long delay, I will try to provide advance notice.

@Bullseyepsa, you are absolutely right that SW really shines in a pulp setting (and space opera; I'm preparing a space opera setting for my F2F group right now; over two dozen species, laser swords, and all the trimmings!).

This is not a mystery men campaign, I want to stress that up front. There will be no super-powers (though ABs in sorcery, weird science, and mesmerism are absolutely on the table). One other thing that I want to stress:

Women and minorities are welcome to be adventurers in this campaign. I know that in the pulps, women were treated as treasures to be won, and minorities were relegated to servant roles or bit parts, but in this game, they will be equals to everyone else. That is not to say that everyone you encounter will agree with that sentiment, but all Wild Cards (e.g., player characters) are equal in my eyes! You are welcome to play an intolerant character, but this does not give you license to be rude or to use racial slurs! There is a huge difference between playing a character and just being an ass. We observe Wheaton's Rule: "Don't be a dick!"

I'll put the board together and get invites out today or tomorrow. I can handle six players, so you're all in!

Dang, I come back from some time away and just miss the boat. Well, if you have anyone drop, consider me a back up. :-)

I'll add my name to the waiting list :)

@JoshuaMabry, Runekyndig has elected to step out for lack of a character concept, so if you want their slot, you're in!
Apr 5, 2025 5:14 pm
I’ll take it! I can start on a character tonight.
Apr 7, 2025 6:41 pm
Well, we've lost another. If you want the slot, @gesges, I'll send you an invite.

Not a problem. If you don't have the rules, you can download a Test Drive document.
