I'm looking to experience a Gestalt game using the 5e 2024 rules set. I realize 5e hasn't released its own set of published rules but it isn't very hard to extrapolate a set of rules based off of the official 3.5 Gestalt rules.
Tamar Moonshadow is a halfling Shadowstalker (class name I've made for a gestalted Monk shadow warrior/Ranger Gloomstalker).
Starting level is entirely up to a prospective GM (anywhere from 1st to 8th).
I'm open to any game concept that involves a more roguish nature. The story concept that spurred on the creation of this character can be found beneath a spoiler below if you are interested, but if you have some other vision/direction, I'm definitely open to it.
### Campaign Synopsis: Shadows of Vengeance
**Setting**: The bustling city of Athkatla, with its dark alleys, opulent estates, and the looming presence of the Shadow Thieves.
**Premise**: After graduating from the infamous Assassins' Run, a small group of skilled operatives is assembled into a new cell under the guidance of a seasoned Lieutenant. Their mission is twofold: to establish their reputation within the Shadow Thieves and to fulfill the oaths of vengeance against Waterdeep and the Arunsun family.
**Objectives**:
1. **Prove Their Worth**: The cell must complete a series of initial missions to gain the trust of their superiors, including thefts, espionage, and sabotage against rival factions in Athkatla.
2. **Infiltrate Waterdeep**: As they gain confidence and skills, the operatives are tasked with infiltrating Waterdeep. They must gather intelligence on the Arunsun family and the city's defenses, setting the stage for a grand scheme of retribution.
3. **Uncover Secrets**: Along the way, the group discovers hidden connections between the Shadow Thieves' past and the Arunsun family, including lost artifacts and forgotten alliances that could aid their cause.
4. **Face Betrayal**: As their actions draw attention, rival criminals and law enforcement begin to close in. The operatives must navigate treachery within their own ranks, testing their loyalty and resolve.
5. **Confrontation**: The climax leads to a high-stakes confrontation in Waterdeep, where the operatives must execute their plan without being caught, ultimately deciding the fate of their guild and their own lives.
**Themes**: Loyalty, revenge, the consequences of ambition, and the moral ambiguity of their actions.
**Conclusion**: The campaign culminates in a showdown that not only fulfills the Shadow Thieves' oaths but also forces the operatives to confront the true cost of their vengeance. Will they emerge as legends, or will their quest lead to their downfall?
This campaign offers a blend of stealth, intrigue, and moral choices, perfect for a group eager to explore the darker side of the Forgotten Realms.
