Dahlia looks at Myrven with surprise and says, "Make camp? Here? In the dark? When the village is no more than two torches down the hill? Nah, I'd rather we keep moving. Besides, what if that lynx shows up again? We're all out of wine."

Myrven rolls his eye. "We'll be followin your nose back to the smell o fish then D". He begins to whistle a tune that is likely supposed to resemble that tune the sailors like to sing in the taverns.

"I would not spend more time then needed outside the village. We have what we came for, let's haul it back to the town. "

Ingvar cannot help but feel they made a narrow escape from the mines.
OOC:

Is it possible to use the crow word to summon a crow and instruct it to guide us from above towards easier/more direct path torwards the village. I will roll erudite in advance (in case).

Rolls

Summon Crow (Erudite +2) - (2d6+2)

(11) + 2 = 4

That is a great creative use of magic. But in this particular instance it does not work. Take 4 Strain, please.

Still thinking about the lynx and uneased by the dark land itself, Ingvar does not focus properly on the spell resulting in an added weariness.

You stumble along the dark path along the side of the glimmering stream. After a while your torchlight touches a structure just to the right side of the path, away from the stream. It looks like a disheveled hovel. Candle light glimmers through the doorway but doesn't show you clearly what's inside.

by the way, can you all see your Luck dice in the Trilemma Tracker at the bottom of the page? You can swap those in for any die you roll.

Myrven halts his whispering. He places his crate on the ground for a moment to turn his empty wineskin into a full waterskin in the creek.
"That looks promising. Want me t' go up and say hi?" I'm not feeling too flash out er".
May 29, 2025 6:45 am
Dahlia whispers, "Yeah, let's take a peek, at least..."
OOC:
Does the dark around us look like normal night time darkness, or is it the oppressive dark of the perm-shadow?
May 29, 2025 4:44 pm
Placing his crate on the ground Ingvar approaches the door as silently as he is able to.
Near the door he pauses and listens.
OOC:

Listening to get an idea how many people in there or conversation topics if any.

tibbius sent a note to GeneralET
The dark around is the perma-shadow that squelches your torchlight, which is what's making it so hard to get back to the village (and made it hard to get to the mine, as well). You don't know if it's actually night or day.

Moving back Ingvar tells his companions he heard noises like a rocking chair as well as someone humming.
"It is not clear how many they are. But there is movement. Do you want to take a chance here? I don't think someone sane would live out here in the permanent dark "
May 30, 2025 8:40 pm
Dahlia nods and says, "Yeah gotta agree with ya there. If I weren’t hauling treasure back to town, then maybe? But with this, nah, I wanna beeline it back, you know?"
May 31, 2025 12:16 am
"It's a roll of the dice t' be fair. Lets move on. I'm struggling to keep my bearings, will one o ye lead on?"
Myrven lifts his crate.

You toward the village, pausing frequently to shift your burdens from aching shoulder to shoulder and once to light a new torch.

Eventually you half stumble into the little fishing village. Beyond the comforting presence of the buildings and the sounds of people settling after dinner, you are pleased that you can see stars in half the sky.

What do you do?

Dahlia breathes a sigh of relief to have arrived in the village. She looks for the tavern they had began their adventure in. She turns to the others and says, "So, I heard that Birevia plays gold for the smallest scrap of this here pigment. So we gotta get it there. For now, let's find a place to rest, ok?"
OOC:
Who or what is Birevia?
May 31, 2025 6:54 pm
OOC:
If you look at the map, you'll see Birevia is an island in the sea called Haver Soont, north of Halfnight Lake.

The city of Twosisters, on Birevia, is the dominant trading power in the Western region, a city of 8,000 citizens living in tier upon tier of stone manors and homes all up the northeastern slopes of the island. Its wide streets hum with the work-songs of artisans from every culture, producing luxuries for wealthy merchant families.

That is where you can sell the pigments to those who dream of Martoi glories past.

OOC:
Ah, sorry, I should have checked there! Thanks. OK, yeah, rest here in town, then head there to sell the pigments. I say we take turns staying on watch too, even here.
