The demon swats your sword aside with a stony hand and punches you, hard. It is not an expert fighter, but it hits like a freight-train! It readies itself to strike again!

What do you do?

OOC:

Take 2 Harm from the Demon Punch. That is Serious filled up, another blow like that and you will be in trouble (but not down, the next Harm has nowhere to go and is 'terminal' (but remember Scars)).
You can decide and describe where you are hurt (cracked ribs? teeth? concussion? whatever).

"Eliot. Eliot Perry. He’s a vampire" she stopped to correct herself, "Or—he was. I don’t even know if he’s still… around." She doesn’t say alive, feeling that word would be too generous for someone like him. She watches Henry closely, waiting to see how far his mind is willing to stretch tonight.

Then she shifts her focus back to Kat. She had to make sure she was safe, because why did she keep circling 'Sin if she didn't have to? "The girls you live with. Are they all with the same agency? Or is it more… independent?"

Henry is left in thought. His harsh awakening might be secondary to the situation at hand.

"Da. Same agency." Kat agrees. "Bring girls over from back home. Give job. Better life in the west. Not working in streets. Much better." OK, sometimes some mudak tries to sacrifice you, but still, better life.

Emma handed Henry all the puzzle pieces. It was his job to put them together now. He has seen and heard enough to pierce through the veil of ignorance - if he cared to. At least it would give her some time to finish her conversation with Kat while he sat and pondered things. She preferred to give the young woman her full attention:

"Are you under some kind of contract? Like… are you stuck with them? Could you leave? work for someone else, or even for yourself?"

Benji staggers back as the demon’s fist connects with his chest, knocking the air from his undead lungs and almost certainly cracking a few ribs. Doubled over in pain, he barely stumbles out of the way of the demon’s next swing. It hurts to move and he’s beginning to wonder if he should flee, but the demon’s hurt too and he needs to take down these demons so he can go help Persephone… Or maybe he should go find Persephone now so that she can help him fight these demons? Even if he manages to kill this one, there’s still another running around the tunnels somewhere and he’s not sure he’s up to fighting that one too…

He yelps and scrambles out of the way just in time as the demon takes another swipe at him, its enormous fist sending down a shower of pebbles as it collides with the wall of the tunnel. Yep! Definitely time to go find Persephone!

Dearly hoping that Emma can outrun the demons for just a little longer, he turns tail and flees down the tunnel back the way he came.

Persephone realizes that Chaudry was hoping to use her as his sacrifice, and, unarmed and naked, she does not capable of fighting him and any demons he might summon. And she definitely doesn't want Kal to see her like this! So she looks past him once more, hoping to find some sign of how he entered. A doorway or tunnel? A magical portal? A rune circle? Anything?
