Gameplay - Prologue. First days on the streets

Nov 10, 2016 12:00 am
After a couple of weeks getting to know the whole of Sector 13, the three of you are assigned as a 3 man team of street Judges, call sign Patrol Delta. Your first assignment you are sent to patrol around the Dotty Parker Block, one of the older blocks in the Sector.

An old, proud block, resembling a malformed gherkin atop a slice of lumpy rye bread, Dotty Parker is the most populous of the Sector 13 blocks and every bit as aloof as its enemy, Buzz Aldrin.

Judge Berns has been assigned Patrol Head for today's assignment. Patrol will involve two circuits of the Block on your Lawmasters followed by foot patrol on the levels, boulevards and plazas of the Block.

As you gear up at Sector House, you have an opportunity to introduce yourselves formally (and describe yourselves under the helmets!).
Nov 13, 2016 3:11 am
Judge Noss nods to his two comrades, as he finishes collecting the final pieces of his gear. He had seen them before during different training sessions, possible on patrol, or around HQ, but he had never meet them officially. As such he shakes both Skegg's and Berns' hands upon seeing them.
"It'll be a pleasure to be working with you both." He says politely. He shakes their hands firmly, first Skegg then Berns.

Noss is a tall man with average physique for a judge: fit and toned. His hair is kept and blond, and he has a clean shaven face. His eyes betray a minor defect, heterochromia. His left eye is blue and his right one is green.
Nov 13, 2016 5:11 am
Judge Skegg tips his strong jaw line up and smiles. "Yeah, bud. Time to put in work." He pats Judge Berns on the back after Noss' firm handshake. Skegg noticed his companion was taller, though not quite as wide. Judge Skegg is a well built man, physically fit and made to detain uncooperative ass. His helmet covers his permanently displeased eyebrows which can be misleading for allies. Judge Skegg is clean shaven for appearances, though had a full grizzly bears up until he became a street judge.

Judge Slegg double checks his equipment, seemingly mumbling his mental item list."Bootknife... Bootknife... Bootknife." Pulling out his bootknife, Skegg inspected it closer. "Not as fun as my Lawgiver, but always good to have." He sheathed the knife and seemed ready for patrol.
Nov 13, 2016 10:39 pm
As you ready your gear, a fourth Judge is assigned to your patrol, a newly graduated Tek Judge, Judge Phaerin.
Nov 13, 2016 10:50 pm
Lawgiver, bootknife, med kit. Check. Check. Check. Evelyn Phaerin runs a quick mental check as she walks up to the more strapping Street Judges. Shorter than all of her compatriots, and a fair measure more lithe, she still wears the body suit and armor with easy confidence.

Wonderful day Judges. The name is Phaerin. Any particular threats I should be cognizant of on this block? She says firmly.
Nov 14, 2016 3:54 am
Judge Berns gives Skegg a glare when he pats him on the back, but then ignores the familiarity. As he shakes hands with Noss he pulls in just a little and makes an obvious show of eyeing him up and down. "Let's make this an easy patrol 'Gentlemen'" He has weathered skin and a nose that looks like it's been busted at least a dozen times. It fits well with his Marine style buzzcut hair. Although he seems gruff with his initial introductions, when Judge Phaerin comes on scene he makes a point to stand next to Judges Skegg and Noss. His response to Judge Phaerin's almost naive question "Threats? Everyone." He puts on his helmet and looks down the street. With a tone that's hard to distinguish from sincerity or sarcasm he says "Let's go make the world a better place"

Engines roar as you tear out of the Sector House and onto the Skedway on your Lawmasters, heading towards the Megway leading towards the Dotty Parker Block. As you get close to your patrol point, the voice of Control addresses you on your radio's.

"Patrol Delta, suspected Mopad Piracy in progress, approximately 2km ahead of your location. General DT-10 Humber Mopad, colour Mustard Yellow. One passenger already ejected."
Nov 14, 2016 4:52 pm
Glad for the full-face coverage of her helmet, Evelyn feels the warmth of an embarrassed blush wash over her face at Judge Berns' comment regarding threats. It's ok Phaerin. Probably a dumb question to ask anyway. Of course these Streeters would see everyone as a threat. To them, everyone IS a threat. Get your head out of your manuals and on the prize girl. Try to get out of this without getting perforated! she thinks to herself as she straddles her Lawmaster. When the radio chirrups in her ear, she looks down to the HD display between her handle bars. Bringing up the piracy alert, she sends the location to NavControl, bringing the location up on the HUD in her helmet.

Code 4, section 4. Mopad Piracy. That's what....2 to 10 years? No, that's simple looting. Section 5. Section 4 is 10 to 30 years. Right. Not too bad, shouldn't be too dangerous. Unless they injured or killed the ejected person. That would ratchet it up. 1 to 12 years more, unless they killed them. How much more is that, 20? Maybe 25 more? her mind reels as it races over the Law. Thankful for her years of schooling and a better than average memory, she goes to reach for her sirens, but holds off, deciding to follow the lead of their Patrol Leader.
Nov 14, 2016 9:21 pm
Without an occupied mind, Skegg smoothly hopped onto his Lawmaster. "Season tickets to a one-way ride..." He kicked the bike into a low gear and roared the powerful engine, waiting to trail behind the others. "Ain't nothing I'd rather do... Bah-do-dooo!" Judge Skegg wasn't the brightest crayon in the box, his instincts have served him well. Over thinking had messed him up during training, despite doing well otherwise.

Noss takes out a small notebook from his front pocket and writes down his initial impressions of his patrol mates as they head to their vehicles. He always logs down his initial impressions of people, and references them later when he knows the person better. Sort of in a self-motivated attempt to train himself to get a feel for people quickly.
Doing so causes him to be the last of the people to mount his Lawmaster. Once he gets the engine roaring he speeds ahead to catch up to the middle of the group, mentally noting that Skegg prefers to take up the rear. He had not heard much of these judges, save that Skegg and Berns have been on the streets years longer than himself. This was only his third or so year. Phaerin seemed green as well, but he doesn't think less of her for it.
Nov 15, 2016 4:35 am
"Alright Ladies and Gents. Judge Skegg, follow and detain the Ejected Passenger. The rest of us will follow the Mopad." Speeding up into the appropriate formation, Noss and Phaerin flanking while Berns attempts to pull along side in view of the Driver. Berns will try and at least get a look at the perps face before issuing his orders over his drop-down microphone.
OOC:
I chose Skegg because he is taking up the rear, i hope you don't mind.
Nov 15, 2016 6:45 am
"You got it, coach." Picking up speed and flicking his Lawmaster's lights on, he veered off towards the ejected passenger. Going down, party time.
OOC:
Not sure how to approach this skill wise and rolls.
Nov 15, 2016 8:06 am
As the others take off down the Megway, Skegg slows down, scanning the 8 lanes. Soon enough he spots a large red patch an pulls up sideways, blocking off the lane. What remains of the citizen is ground into the road. Time to call a Meat Wagon!
Nov 15, 2016 9:29 am
Sirens blare, and the traffic peels out of the way as Noss, Phaerin and Burns catch sight of the mustard yellow Mopad up ahead.

Close to 7 1/2 metres long, these beasts are mobile habitation units that forever cruise the Megways. This particular model, the DT-10 Humber is an older model but has all the mod-cons a citizen would need. That also makes them a target for the less fortunate resulting in Mo-Pad Piracy.

As the Judges get closer it is clear that a distressed citizen is clutching the ladder on the side of the vehicle.

As the vehicle is in the extreme left lane, Berns pulls up alongside the right passenger side. The door is open and Berns sees a desperate looking citizen at the wheel. He doesn't appear particularly dangerous or armed.

Often these things have an autopilot but by the way he's clutching the wheel, either this one doesn't or he isn't aware of it. When he sees Berns he certainly has no intention of stopping.

Berns drops down his microphone.
OOC:
Standard procedure here would be call on the Perp to surrender and only one Judge should do this. This needs an influence roll (2d6) of 8+. In this instance there's a +2 modifier as both Noss and Phaerin are in sight, -4 for this Perp's desperation level.
Nov 15, 2016 12:15 pm
Son of a bitch. The body was nothing more than spaghetti and meatballs splattered across the lane covered in vibrant red sauce. "That's a spicy meat-a-ball..." Skegg clicked on his radio, "Patrol Delta, Judge Skegg... Ejected passenger is deceased. Need clean up in the lane. Joining Mopad pursuit, on my way." Deciding to not be a sitting duck on the Megaway, Skegg sped up to join the group. My tires are all streaky now.
Nov 15, 2016 2:03 pm
Damn. Manslaughter on top of the piracy charge. Long iso-cube stint for him. Phaerin thinks as she guns her Lawmaster, working to keep pace with Berns as he pulls alongside the Mopad.

Why are we still chasing this guy. Surely the folks back at the lab should be able to come up with something that could scramble the electronics of these things, or give us the ability to tap into their controls from our Lawmasters. Would make these pursuits far less dangerous. I'll have to bring it up with some of the senior Tek Judges when this patrol is over. she thinks to herself as they continue to match pace with the Mopad.
Nov 15, 2016 2:57 pm
Noss maintains formation until Berns issues the verbal commands to the perps. He knows better than to intervene until then. He does ready himself in case the Mo-Pad turns into them. Bumper cars with a Mo-Pad is not on his bucket list.
Nov 15, 2016 9:37 pm
Skegg pulls up beside Judge Noss to fill in the formation, humming a tune in his head. His Lawmaster's lights were still flashing as he gave a few siren calls to let Phaerin and Berns know he's there.
Nov 15, 2016 9:46 pm
Phaerin looks back over her shoulder at the siren whoop to see Skegg roar up behind them. She flips her hand in a quick greeting as she turns back to the task at hand.
Nov 16, 2016 2:50 am
Berns lets out a stern command. "Citizen, stop the vehicle and prepare to be judged. You have 8 seconds to comply"
OOC:
His Influence modifier is +2, bringing the total modifier for this roll to +0

Rolls

"Surrender in the name of the Law!" - (2d6)

(12) = 3

Nov 16, 2016 7:48 am
"DROKK YOU, JUDGE!" yells the Citizen in a high pitched, clearly terrified voice.

He slams down the accelerator and tears off down the Megway. The man clinging to the ladder screams, his arms and legs clinging on for dear life.
Nov 16, 2016 2:51 pm
Noss engages his sirens and speeds up to attempt to catch the vehicle. "I'll assist the civilian out of the situation." He shouts over his radio to the others amongst all the noise. He accelerates and attempts to get along side the Mo-Pad, trying to get just under the man on the ladder.
OOC:
I don't know how the rolls work. What do I need to roll?
Last edited Nov 16, 2016 2:52 pm

Rolls

Drive lawmaster = 2d6+skill - (2d6+2)

(42) + 2 = 8

Nov 16, 2016 4:25 pm
OOC:
OK so a skill check is 2d6 + modifiers and you need to get 8 or more

In this instance use Drive Lawmaster skill (assuming you intend to drive the Lawmaster yourself and not ask the computer to take over)
Nov 16, 2016 6:32 pm
Noss matches speed with the Mopad and gets under the ladder.
OOC:
You can either persuade him to jump (influence) go to autopilot and grab him yourself (strength) or if you have another idea...?
Nov 16, 2016 6:50 pm
"Citizen, It is unsafe where you are. You need to jump onto my vehicle. I will take you to safety." Noss calls over all the noise, trying to sound reliable and calm. He is ready at a moments notice to switch the bike to auto-pilot and catch him should he jump poorly. "I think I'll always hate car chases." Noss thinks to himself, instinctively tightening his grip with his left hand.

Rolls

Persuade - (2d6+1)

(24) + 1 = 7

Nov 16, 2016 6:56 pm
The man seems reassured by Noss's words. He lowers himself down a rung and hops onto the back of the lawmaster, his hands instantly encircling Noss's chest.
OOC:
Nb in this instance you could add both influence and your persuade skill, making 8 in total.
Nov 17, 2016 1:06 am
Once he gets the man on his bike, Noss starts to pull away and back up to the rear of the group. "Citizen secured." He says over the radio, then repeats again to control.
Nov 17, 2016 2:17 am
Phaerin guns the powerful Lawmaster engine, smoothly keeping alongside the Mopad.

Can't shoot the citizen, hasn't done anything yet to earn that. Can't shoot the tires, it would endanger too many citizens. Tow cable is on the back so we can't slow it down that way. Why don't we have a front grapple? I'm not sure what I should be doing here. I should have done more patrols during Academy. Damn. Mind racing, she looks ahead down the Megway.

Judge Berns, do you want me to ride ahead and try to impede and slow their progress by obstructing? Phaerin says, toggling a secure channel on comms between her and the Patrol Leader.
Nov 18, 2016 2:04 pm
"Negative Judge Phaerin, that Mo-Pad is going to go where it wants. Disable the Engine with AP rounds" Judge Berns pulls his Lawmaster closer to the open passenger door and issues a command for Automatic mode to take control and stay parallel to the Mo-Pad.
OOC:
I intend to board the vehicle so that i can physically take control of the Mo-Pad from the Perp.

Rolls

Operate Lawmaster in Automatic (+2) - (2d6)

(53) = 8

Nov 18, 2016 3:18 pm
Affirmative Judge Berns. Phaerin says over the secure comm before toggling over to open comms.
I'll try to disable the Mo-Pad's engine. With a steady hand she pulls her Lawgiver from its holster and raises it up near her helmet. Armor Piercing her clear alto voice rings out. A moment later, the pistol confirms that it is rigged for AP rounds. She adjusts her speed to line up next to the engine area on the Mo-Pad. Laying the Lawgiver across her left arm to steady her aim, she takes a shot at the vehicle.

Rolls

Drive (Lawmaster) [Keeping the bike steady while shooting] - (2d6+1)

(64) + 1 = 11

Guns (Lawgiver) [Shooting the Engine] - (2d6+1)

(24) + 1 = 7

Nov 18, 2016 4:20 pm
Commanding his Lawmaster to take automatic control, he climbs onto the saddle and makes the jump through the passenger door.
OOC:
Dexterity Check +2 as the matching speeds makes this fairly easy.
Phaerin fires an AP round into the engine.
OOC:
(It pierces, but you'll need another 2 rounds to incapacitate the engine)
OOC:
Judge Phaerin, as well as Lawgiver skill you can add your Dex bonus, so your lawgiver roll is +3
Nov 18, 2016 4:26 pm
OOC:
Roger that! Phaerin will "take" her additional two shots now, if that's OK. If they need to be more spaced out, let me know!
.

Seeing the sparks of metal falling open to the hardened nose of the AP round, Phaerin pumps two more rounds into the engine as soon as she is able to.

Rolls

Lawgiver! - (2d6+3)

(66) + 3 = 15

Lawgiver! - (2d6+3)

(62) + 3 = 11

Nov 18, 2016 6:54 pm
Judge Skegg replaced Noss' spot next to the Mo-Pad, making sure he is ready to act in the call of the moment. He gave a mean grimace at the perp as the engines roared and he mouthed the words to a beloved song.
OOC:
Kind of just waiting to act lol. Hard not to treat this like Time Crisis or something. Riding a badass motorcycle is fun though, haha.

Trying to keep an eye out for any other passengers.

Rolls

Leaping to the Mo-Pad - (2d6+2)

(26) + 2 = 10

Nov 18, 2016 11:25 pm
Berns leaps in smoothly, landing in a crouch. To the left, a solid partition and a closed door seperate the cab from the living area. The driver appears to be alone and looks at you in panic.

As he sees you he lurches the wheel to the right, sending the vehicle lurching into the next lane.

Dex +2 for Berns to stay in the cab
Lawmaster+dex rolls for all judges beside the vehicle

Valcos says:
OOC:
Is Phaerin or Skegg to the right of the Mo-Pad?
Yes, both. Skegg is beside the cab, alongside Berns unmanned Lawmaster that is about to veer right too. Phaerin is right ahead, shooting out the engine.

Noss has pulled off the secure the citizen.
Nov 19, 2016 4:35 am
"They always want to do it the hard way." Judge Berns is wondering what's got this guy spooked. Probably just another case of Future Shock, a citizen driven crazy by the strain of 'modern' living. Or maybe he's got Dredd Syndrome, snapping under the weight of stress that comes with believing he will be Judged at any moment.

Rolls

Stay in the Cab - (2d6+2)

(31) + 2 = 6

Nov 19, 2016 7:31 am
Skegg swerves his Lawmaster in attempt to not get hit.

Rolls

Lawmaster - (2d6+3)

(56) + 3 = 14

Nov 19, 2016 9:11 am
The sudden movement of the Mopad and the already unsteady footing after the leap into the cab sends Berns flying back out of the cab before he can grab anything. Thankfully he lands backside first on the waiting seat of his bike with no more than a bruised ego.

That qualifies as attempted murder of a Judge.
Nov 19, 2016 9:14 am
Phaerin calmly fires another AP round, causing steam to start to release from the engine.
Nov 19, 2016 12:52 pm
Phaerin focuses on the steaming mopad, eyes flicking back only enough to realize that Berns was thrown from the vehicle.

Attempted murder of a street judge! Life sentence for him. Unless it's future shock. If we could just get this beast to stop, I could haul him in for a psych analysis. She thinks as she squares up her aim for another shot.
Nov 19, 2016 8:38 pm
Knifesedgegames sent a note to Nikcollini
Nov 19, 2016 9:29 pm
After recovering from the swerve, Judge Skegg positions outside and behind the Mopad. Swerving won't be necessary again, but he is slightly back from the action. He boop-boops his siren again to let his position be made aware of, to his partners and perp.
Nov 19, 2016 10:11 pm
Noss pulls off the megaway, and quickly questions the civilian.
"State your name and the date." He commands. "Tell me what happened and everything you know relating to the incident." He continues, ready to record the man's answers.
OOC:

Not sure on roll if I need one.
Nov 19, 2016 11:03 pm
OOC:
No need for a roll, as this is routine and he's willing to talk.
"Skizz McEndry, Judge," he utters, still shaking, "He, he hitched a ride. Seemed like a nice guy. Then he just flipped, grabbed me from the wheel and flung me out. I grabbed the ladder and he threw Marleen, my wife out after me. She got hit by another Mopad, smushed. Damn pirates. Won't be giving anyone a lift again."
Nov 20, 2016 2:41 am
Noss records everything he can, and gets the man's contact information if available. "If we recover it in working condition, you'll be able to pick up your vehicle here..." Noss explains the pickup procedure to him and where he can pick up the Mo-Pad so long as it is not destroyed. Once done he mounts up on his Lawmaster, and peels off down the road and back to the megaway, trying to converge with his squad.
Nov 20, 2016 7:52 pm
OOC:
Berns can have one more action before Phaerin gets her third shot off.
Nov 21, 2016 3:48 am
Trying once again to board the Mo-pad, Berns takes a leap for the open passenger door.
Nov 21, 2016 3:49 am
Trying once again to board the Mo-pad, Berns takes a leap for the open passenger door.

Rolls

Leaping to the Mo-Pad - (2d6+2)

(22) + 2 = 6

Nov 21, 2016 7:53 am
Berns misses his footing on the first step and although he gets in, he's on the floor of the cab.

There's an incredibly loud bang as Phaerin's third shot hits the engine block and shuts the engine off. The Mopad starts to slow. The Perp starts banging the controls and pumping the accelerator but seeing nothing helping and seeing Berns prone on the steps he jumps out of the seat and darts for the door at the back of the cab.
Nov 21, 2016 8:02 am
Judge Skegg, watches as the Mopad slows. Its go time. He parks his flashing Lawmaster a few yards back and dismounts with his weapon already drawn. "You have chose to violate the law, stop and accept your sentence." Skegg aimed his Lawgiver with a steady arm.
OOC:
Do I roll for something??

Skegg aims at the rear doors of the vehicle covering the rear exit.
OOC:
Once a Perp has been challenged to surrender and fails he will ignore subsequent challenges. The only option at this point is to physically subdue. The perp is not yet in sight of Skegg (he is moving to the habitation area and has not reached the rear of the Mopad yet)
Nov 23, 2016 7:51 am
OOC:
Berns, time to wrap this one up!
Nov 23, 2016 1:34 pm
Leveling his Lawgiver at the Perps head Judge Berns' delivers sentencing. "Standard Execution"

Rolls

Gun Combat(Lawgiver) - (2d6+2)

(45) + 2 = 11

Nov 23, 2016 5:12 pm
The distinct sound of the Lawgiver's combustion was like music to his ears. Skegg sprints forwards to rest his back on the side of the Mopad; back left corner. His gun was ready to intervene shortly.
Nov 24, 2016 1:10 pm
The Mopad slows to a halt. Phaerin pulls up alongside, in front of Bern's Lawmaster. Skegg waits at the rear. Berns takes aim at the Perp as he runs through the living area.
OOC:
Not to second guess you, but death sentence might be viewed as extreme so be sure to justify in sentencing by quoting the code of Law the perp has broken. If you do choose to pull the trigger, damage is 3d6
Nov 25, 2016 4:38 am
OOC:
Let me know when I get there, but no rush. I wanna see how they will handle the situation as well.
Nov 26, 2016 4:33 am
Berns gives chase after the Perp to attempt to tackle and subdue.

Rolls

(51) + 1 = 7

Nov 26, 2016 11:57 pm
OOC:
OK Melee unarmed (2d6+1 (skill)+0(Str or Dex))
Nov 28, 2016 2:29 am
Slowing alongside the Mopad, Phaerin kills the motor of her Lawmaster. Keeping her pistol drawn, she swings her leg over the seat and moves toward the entrance to the Mopad, keeping her firearm trained on the door.

If he really is suffering from future shock, he needs to be studied, not executed. I hope these streeters can see that.

If the perp appears in the doorway, she will trigger the stun-shot pulse system at him, aiming to stun the perp.

ISSP Damage - (2d6+3)

(23) + 3 = 8

Nov 29, 2016 3:36 pm
As Bern's charges, the perp he ducks and twists, the Judge not quite getting hold of him and ending up behind him. Phaerin steps through the door, and with a clear shot, releases the stun function of her Lawgiver on the Perp.

Rolls

The Perp crumples unconscious on the floor of the Mopad.
Nov 30, 2016 5:03 am
Judge Berns, permission to arrest and sentence perp to psycho-cube for possible future shock analysis? Phaerin asks clearly, keeping her Lawgiver trained on the now unconscious perp.
Dec 3, 2016 12:19 am
OOC:
Let's assume he gives a nod and get things moving...
Dec 3, 2016 2:15 am
Noss rolls up as the group gets down restraining the perp. "Whats the call?" he asks aloud for anyone to answer as he cuts off his lawmaster's siren.
Dec 3, 2016 2:20 am
Judge Phaerin climbs into the mopad and holsters her pistol.

Citizen, you are charged with the following crimes: Code 4, Section 4 - Mopad Piracy - 30 Years. Code 23, Section 1 - Resisting Arrest - 8 Years. Code 23, Section 6 - Obstructing a Judge in his duty - 15 Years. Code 15, Section 4 - Speeding - 2 Years, 20 Year Ban. Code 15, Section 2 - Dangerous Driving - 15 Years, Lifetime Ban. Code 1, Section 5 modified by Code 24, Section 1 - Attempted Manslaughter - 13 Years. Code 1, Section 5 - Manslaughter - 25 Years. Total Sentence - 108 Years, Isocube. Sentencing Exception - Criminal Activity may be due to Future Shock. Remand to Psychocube for determination. If no shock, sentence is 108 years in Isocube. Citizen, you are sentenced. The wagon will be by for you soon. She rattles off quickly, as she bends down to the unconscious perp to cuff him.

Can I get a hand hauling this lug to the post?
Dec 3, 2016 2:48 am
"Judge Berns, please report back to sector 13 station house for evaluation. Judge Phaerin, you have command of this patrol."
Dec 3, 2016 2:58 am
Affirmative Control. Reporting in on the Mopad piracy. Situation resolved, leaving the perp for pickup at the post just to the north of our current location. Please send a MedWagon to pick up the perp, set for psychocube review for possible Future Shock diagnosis. Phaerin says into her helmet mic as she starts tugging the perp to the post.

Noss walks over nodding. "Well done Judge, I'm impressed. You don't act quite as green as I thought you would." He meant it as a genuine compliment, but even a moderate amount of time on the streets tend to take the manners out of a person. He helps her lift the unconscious lug off the ground and gets him mounted up on one of the lawmasters. Once done he calls in to control giving the location of the Mo-Pad so it can be towed away. They drive him over to the nearest post and secure him.

Berns leaves the rest of you without another word. Phaerin can't help feeling she may have showed him up somehow, but with the perp secured, the squad of three hit the road again and head to the Block for patrol duty.

Riding towards the familiar gherkin-shaped Dotty Parker block, you begin the two circuits around the building. Things seem fairly calm and nothing out of the ordinary is going on. The mere presence of Judges on the streets is usually enough to deter criminal activity.

Approaching the front of the building for the second time, there's suddenly a flood of citizens, about 20 or so pushing out of the main doors, mostly women and children screaming, running from the lobby.
Dec 3, 2016 10:34 pm
Noss parks his Lawmaster, dismounts, and grabs one of the runners. "What is going on?" He asks clearly and sternly.
Dec 3, 2016 10:59 pm
The woman stares at you, before lowering her gaze. She is shaking, "Axe! Axe man!"
Dec 3, 2016 11:41 pm
Killing her Lawmaster, Phaerin swings out of the saddle. Stalking over to Judge Noss she signals to Skagg to approach the entry from the left flank.

Judge Noss, report! She says over her mic as she moves to the right flank, hand sitting on her Lawgiver.
Dec 4, 2016 4:37 am
"Possible code 1 or 2 violation." He says frowning, "All she said was, "Axe man". Whats the call?"
Dec 4, 2016 11:40 am
Spread out. Skagg take the left flank. I'll take right. Noss, down the middle, Cautious approach. Apprehend alive, restore order. Deadly force if necessary only. she says in a measured tone.

I think that's what Tactics class advised us to do? she tried to remember.

Judge Skegg leaves his Lawgiver holstered. "Approaching lobby, mainly woman and children exiting." he scans the area with strong posture and presence. "Taking the left, Phae." using his experience, Skegg tried to feel out the situation.
OOC:
Not sure what rolls id use, but I think I got sixth sense or something to see what my gut says about this.

Once the lobby doors are clear of escaping citizens, the three Judges move towards the doors. Even before reaching the doors, a number of bloodstained and dismembered corpses litter the floor.

Upon reaching the doors for a clear view, it's a blood bath. More bodies scattered around. There are four women, seemingly unharmed, crying over dead bodies and by the escalator, on the far side of the foyer a man with an axe, hacking at a body on the floor. He is wearing the distinct white space suit (now soaked in blood) of a Buzzer, from a Buzz Aldrin Block, sworn enemies of the Dotty Parker Block.
Dec 5, 2016 2:00 am
"Code 1 and 2 for certain, and Possible code 13 violation." He mutters to himself and the other judges. "Hope its just a loner and not the start of a block war." He approaches with the others, weapon raised. He keeps his weapon trained on the violent offender, but also looks around for other potential threats.
OOC:
Gonna use street perception. None of the other skills seem to fit as good. If that doesn't fly just let me know.

Judging by the pattern of bodies and wounds inflicted, it's clear to Noss that this Perp has worked his way from the entrance, alone and killing in his path. The victims are all male and appear dressed in the clothes of gang members affiliated with this Block. Unlikely that this is indiscriminate but a pre-meditated attack and the attacker has worked his way to the elevator, perhaps intending to attack bigger targets within the building.
Dec 5, 2016 2:34 am
As the axe man spots you, he grabs one of the sobbing women. Using her as a body shield, he holds the axe to her neck.
Dec 5, 2016 3:16 am
Citizen! Surrender yourself to be judged! Phaerin states clearly into her helmet mic as her pistol settles on the perp. In a softer voice she speaks to her Lawgiver Ricochet Round.
OOC:
If he doesn't comply, her thought it to try a ricochet shot off the elevator into his back/shoulder area.

The round fires from Phaerin's Lawgiver, hitting the elevator door at just the right angle and thuds into the perp's back. He stumbles forward in surprise, sending his hostage falling to the ground.
OOC:

The rubber tipped bullet sinks into the perp's shoulder, slamming him against the back of the elevator. He slides down the wall and there's a ping as the door slides shut.
Dec 7, 2016 5:07 am
Gun still holstered, Skegg ran for the perp. He lagged behind, meeting the metal doors with the side of his fist. "Dammit!" He presses the elevator buttons.
Dec 7, 2016 7:12 am
Skegg makes it to the elavator before it takes off. As he hits the button, the door slides open, revealing the unconscious perp on the floor.
Dec 7, 2016 9:05 am
Noss states the obvious as he approaches "Out cold. That went better than it could have." He assists Skegg in dragging the man out of the elevator and puts restraints on him.
Dec 7, 2016 4:43 pm
Judge Skegg, please sentence and book it with Control. Judge Noss, once the perp is secured, please tend to citizens in the immediate area. We need to secure this before we press onward. She says, glad she remembered some field protocols.

Toggling the mic on her helmet, she speaks quietly Control, this is Judge Phaerin, Patrol Delta. I need a meatwagon to the Dotty Parker block. 8 confirmed dead. Perp apprehended without additional loss of life. Judge Skegg sentencing and booking now.
Dec 7, 2016 5:04 pm
Noss nods at the order and checks every body. Those that are dead he leaves, and checks for any wounded.
Dec 7, 2016 9:23 pm
He nods his strong chin up at Phaerin, "Control, this is Judge Skegg, Patrol Delta. Sentencing perp;" Skegg kneels down beside the perp with his hand on his shoulder tight. "Code 1:1- Life, Code 2:5- 2 years, Code 10:5- 10 years, Code 13:1- Life" He stands up and looks over to Phaerin, "Control, perpetrator sentenced to Life in Iso-Cube. Please send vehicle for transport."
Dec 7, 2016 10:39 pm
Once the scene is cleared and the survivors taken care of, the Judges proceed on foot with their patrol.

Most of the day is fairly calm until late in the day a fight breaks out on an upper level. Between you and the fight is a crowd of citizens, well over a dozen, watching the fight. Of the combatants one have freakishly large arms and thick hands compared to the other, and is pummeling his opponent into the ground.
Dec 9, 2016 4:22 pm
Citizens stand to! Judges on the scene, halt your conflict! Phaerin says loudly as she approaches the crowd, hand on her holstered Lawgiver.
OOC:
Rolling Influence 2d6+1+2 for the other judges in sight. If there are desperation negatives, please apply them. :)

Dec 9, 2016 7:10 pm
"Alright, people! Get 'get moving!" Skegg walks beside Phaerin with his hands waving people away.
Dec 9, 2016 10:19 pm
The crowd disperses and a final loud crunch as the winner of the fight lays a final heavy blow, before raising his huge arms in surrender.
Dec 9, 2016 10:26 pm
Judge Skegg, please check the loser for lifesign. Citizen, you are under arrest. Charges at this time are Code 2:2 - 10 Years, Code 13:3 - 2 Years. If the other citizen is dead I'll add in Code 1:5 - 25 Years. Please await sentencing citizen. Phaerin says, keeping her hand on her Lawgiver.
Dec 9, 2016 11:59 pm
As you get closer, you realise the arms and hands are not normal. The hands are like sledgehammers. This perp is a mutant!
Dec 10, 2016 4:15 am
"Been a while since I've seen something like that." Noss notes with a controlled voice, hiding his fascination. "That would be code 21 I believe Judge." He says to Phaerin, "Exile on the cursed earth."
Dec 10, 2016 4:48 am
Judge Skegg checks the vitals of the loser.
Dec 10, 2016 10:40 pm
The loser is alive, just unconscious.
Dec 11, 2016 4:34 am
"Loser shows vitals" he activates his mic. "Control, Patrol Delta, need medical assistance at Dotty Park." Skegg turns to the mutant and looks at his arm. "You actions have consequences, be prepared to accept them."
Dec 11, 2016 12:27 pm
The mutie holds out his huge arms to invite you to cuff him. It's clear your cuffs were not designed for wrists this size!
Dec 11, 2016 12:32 pm
Judge Noss, you would have been correct in the past. However, Code 21 offenses have been repealed. Charges stand as previously stated citizen, 12 years isocube imprisonment. Skegg, Noss apprehend and affix to the post please. I'll report to Control. Phaerin says.

Thank the law I read through the statutes before starting patrol today. she thinks as she triggers the comm system to control.

Control, reporting an arrest. Code 2:2 - 10 years, code 13:3 - 2 years. Sentence 12 years isocube imprisonment. Please send a pickup to the Dotty Parker block. Be warned, perp is a mutant. she says, tacking the last bit on as an afterthought. Even if they have repealed the damn law, it doesn't mean we should just be ignorant of the situation.
Dec 11, 2016 12:41 pm
Skegg walks over to the perp and shakes his head casually, "You're a big fucker, eh? What made you pound that sorry chump?"
Dec 11, 2016 5:16 pm
Noss nods at the correction, "Either way works for me." He puts a hand on the perp's shoulder, standing behind him. "I guess if you have hands like that its hard not to use them." Noss says once he gets a closer look at the hands. The two Judges begin leading him to the nearest post.
Dec 11, 2016 6:08 pm
The mutant glares at Skegg, "He called me 'big fucker," he says, without humour, before Noss leads him away.
Dec 12, 2016 7:53 am
The rest of the patrol is fairly uneventful, with the occaisional petty crime, but nothing major. At the end of the day you return to Sector House, content that the Block is that little bit safer.
