Is there any interest if the FFG Star Wars RPG out there these days?

I haven't gotten to play that system... maybe at all since COVID, and am having a hankerin'. (Having just finished Andor S2 probably didn't hurt either.)

I have some ideas rolling around in my head for some limited-run campaigns. Mostly Force focused, but could also potentially get down with a bounty hunters-thing, or something otherwise light and easy?

Anyone interested in this system anymore?

I may have some interest. It was the system that actually got me to Gamersplane

Man... how many TTRPG companies have had the Star Wars license over the years? Looks like at least three... WEG, WotC, and FFG? Any others?

Well, this probably will needlessly complicate things but the current company that has the license is "Edge Studios".

But that is actually just an off-shoot/split of FFG's boardgaming and tabletop gaming divisions, I think (and actually, that's all technically under Asmodee's ownership).

Anyway, you may have also heard it referred to as "the Narrative Dice System", which have birth to the "Genesys RPG"? Or maybe not.

Anyway it's the one with the proprietary dice system (which GP has a built-in roller for, it was once so popular here).

They don't publish any more books right? I always felt like they had a pretty fleshed out system and wasn't sure where they would go next. They Published the Rise of the Separatist and Collapse of the Republic books and maybe a few other supplements after that but honestly the well got pretty dry for new species/career/specializations to be added. I can't think of a type of Star Wars character you couldn't make using the system

Interest, yes, I have in this.

I'd be willing to brush off the old books again. I never did get it to the table, back in the day.

edit: I literally just reinstalled The Old Republic last night, ha ha.

FFG Star Wars is my favorite TTRPG Star Wars.

I actually had my first big emotional game playing over google hangouts using Force and Destiny. I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan these days, but I absolutely had a blast roleplaying in that universe. Definitely interested!

Yea, all Edge has done with the license so far is issue re-prints (which was needed and good).

They have produced some new supplements for Genesys, and I think they did the L5R conversion to 5E (which I must admit I'm curious about).

No new books for Star Wars tho.

I think I agree that it's a pretty complete line.

I think all I could ever ask or hope for are things that will never happen. Rules updates/options to remove some of the Talent-tax, or XP-tax stuff, an alternate Force System that utilizes the core mechanic, updates to vehicle/starship combat... Essentially unify it with Genesys :P

More details and ideas and quest leads for more planets would be nice too, but I imagine the Mouse doesn't want to let a ttepg producer playing in their sandbox of canon like used to happen.

Fun fact, i picked up the starter set and GM'd my first game of any ttrpg straight raw using the system.

Never watched an actual play, never played ANY ttrpg, just read the rules and played with friends.

@valdattaMadun - You know, Pergano still flies the ship.

I have never played this game as a player, but I did GM my friends through the Edge of the Empire intro scenario and it was a lot of fun. I would be interested in revisiting this dynamic ruleset, and as a huge Star Wars fan, who doesn't love getting immersed in this setting?

I love the FFG Star Wars rules. Haven't played in a few years though. Only ever played Edge of the Empire and Age of Rebellion campaigns. Never gotten the chance to try a Force & Destiny one though.

I would love to do a Force & Destiny game in the Old Republic

I'd love to do Age of Rebellion or Edge of Empire.

Alright thanks everyone looks like there's enough interest in the system for a game (or two!).

I'll put up a recruitment thread in the next couple days describing a few ideas and see if anything sounds good enough for ppl to jump in.
