Tamm stopped stirring Leilani's infusion a little bit ago and leaves the cup stuck to the counter.

Tamm raises his chin to acknowledge LC's request to start the pre-flight checks. Pouring another cup of kaf, Tamm pats Bronz on the shoulder in passing.

"Welcome aboard, Ms. Hong."

Whilst barefoot and in an oversized t-shirt wasn't probably the most approriate dress for a Baron Leilani tried her best to act in appropriate manner. With a cheerful thanks she accepted the cube and waved them off to there other (she assumed) duties.

She was just about to wonder if she should open the hypercube when the Captains voice came over the comms.

"Aye, aye captain!"
she answered to the air as she cycled the airlock close.

Now to see if her sleepy juice was okay before taking a look at this message.

Tharrok was just coming out of his cabin on his way to the galley and then the bridge when he hears LC and a new voice conversing in professional tones. His ears perked up a bit and he sniffed the air to get a sense of what he was walking into before he rounded the corner. The first thing hitting the sensitive receptors in his snout was the smell of Leilani's concoction. Tharrok smiled, knowing that she had Vargr-sourced ingredients in her brew just from the smell. He also smelled the Kaffe that LC had put on. He knew it was fresh. Brom and Tamm were also hanging around, each had a scent particular to them that stood out to Tharrok. But it was a new scent that stood out to him. Feminine human, he was fairly certain. The smell of the planet, Jokotre, hung heavy on this person. But there was more. The new person had the smell of someone who took personal hygiene very seriously, like high society-type seriously. He crinkled his snout slightly for a brief second, making sure to have a neutral look on his face before he entered the crew lounge.

Walking into the crew lounge was a largish (1.8ish meters, 98.4kg) Vargr with a solid white coat of heavy and thick fur. He was wearing a modified ship's uniform, a tunic with the sleeves removed and Vargr-tailored trousers with matching boots. He took a moment to observe the scene and realized that the new person in front of LC was going to be Alice Petrov's replacement.

"Captain," Tharrok nodded as greeting to LC.

Once LC welcomed the newcomer to the crew, Tharrok closed the distance and extended his paw (hand).

"Tharrok Jyvrek. T-Jive, if you'd like. I fly the ship. Welcome aboard."

Looking at Tamm, he motion for T-Jive (Tharokk) and Tamm to start preflight checks.

Looking at everyone he claps his hands with a smile in a casual manner;
"Okay people lets get this show on the road. We have preflight checks and ice-pops to get into their freezer lockers and better paying passengers to board in a couple of hours."

"Preflight checks. Aye, aye, Captain."

Message from Viscount Isso, private/confidential to Leilani Nekaii

The matrix cube activates under Leilani's touch, and a high definition tri-D holographic visual appears, along with audio and Vilani-language subtitles!

The first 80-percent of the message consists of formal greetings, a recitation of bona-fides, a 'regret' that Isso had not learned of Leilani's presence at Jokotre until too late to arrange a proper reception, and some 'updates' on recent court gossip.

Finally the meat of the matter is presented: a request that Leilani assist in any way possible the acceptance by the crew of the "Miss Fortune" of Kayla Hong. It is strongly implied that Kayla was part of the Imperial Diplomatic Mission at Jokotre, but that somehow (not specified) she had crossed high ranking members of the ruling elite. It is stated plainly that she is in danger. And that departure from the planet was deemed the most expeditious course of action. But also, to avoid any further negative repercusions on the Diplomatic efforts, she had been unable to disentangle her financial assets from the local banking system and that financial assistance from the Imperium would be minimal (if any) due to a lingering fear that such assistance might make the diplomatic scene even more fraught than it already was.

After viewing, the matrix cube quietly self-destructs to the tune of "Mission Impossible".....

Leilani had always thought that Engineers were the biggest gossips she knew, but apparently, the nobs were even worse. Though it was fascinating stuff, and she filed a few juicy titbits away for a stormy day! Of course, that meant she had to decide what to do with the potential problem that was Kayla. Normally, she'd keep a fellow crewmate's secret; such things were, in general, their own business, but in this case, it might cause them all some grief down the line. Mind made up, she went back to catch the Captain before he set them all back to the stars.

"Oh, you kept stirring you little diamond!" with a smile she took the spoon and began to carefully pour her drink into an oversized mug

"Captain before you go, I need a quick talk, in private, please."
OOC:
If you want we can assume she shared what she was told about our newbie and get onto the exciting stuff!

LC listened, arms crossed lightly as Leilani delivered her quiet, careful summary. His face remained neutral—but his eyes flicked with thought behind them. When she finished, he gave a small nod and a faint smile that crinkled the corner of his eye.

"Appreciate you bringing this forward, Leilani. Really. That was the right call."

He drew in a slow breath and tapped one knuckle against the bulkhead beside him.

"Turns out, we got a preview of that very situation during the docking interview. Ms. Hong didn’t exactly spill every classified secret, but she was forthcoming about stepping on ecclesiastical toes and needing offworld in a hurry. And it didn’t sound like she was hiding it for long-term advantage."

He glanced down the corridor briefly, voice dropping just a touch.

"Between your warning and her honesty… I think we’ve got the measure of it. She's aboard now, so we keep an eye out, we keep her safe, and we keep flying. But thank you, Leilani—sincerely. This crew watches out for each other. You proved that again today."

He gave her a half-smile, a little more relaxed now.

"And next time the nobs start whispering sweet secrets, see if you can get something with investment tips or jump fuel discounts, eh?" He gave her a wink. "Now let’s make ready. The stars aren’t going to wait."
