Sorry buried in an after thought of the character creation thread I mentioned I was going to be in vacation this week.

In an air port now heading home, will pick things back up hopefully Monday. But that may be a little hairy at work, catching up, so maybe Tuesday.

I am bummed to see Furmyr hasn't posted, I'll @ them when I get back.

All good. I know I am staycationing this next week...which weirdly means less frequent posting so actually going somewhere is even harder haha

Ha, there it is. I remembered reading you were off for a few days but couldn't find where you actually saidit to get when you were due back.

I find the same thing with chores etc when I'm staycationing. More time to do it but less gets done - guess it's the change in routine and going into a lazy "Vacation mode."

It was for a friend's birthday party where the plan was to play ttrpgs for 4 days straight (and carouse the other 2), so I for some reason thought I might be able to post in the evenings. But...

That didn't pan out.

We were up till sunrise 2 of the nights, and were just late and exhausted on the others

Sorry. The game thread hasn't shown up as unread, so have overlooked it. I am too dependent on the latest game post list so when there's a snafu there it messes up everything for me.

No problem, in actually having the opposite problem.

I am having threads in my feed that I have read showing up as unread, and/or being unable to get them un-highlighted as unread.

So... some hiccups in the system.

We'll work through and past them.

Oh wait, I just remembered I have this upgrade for farsight:
"When making a Vigilance or Perception check, the user may roll a Farsight power check as part of the pool. The user may spend a Force point to gain a success or advantage result (character's choice) on the check."

Would it be too late to add this to my vigilance roll?

how would you rule using Force Move on these projectiles? The ability does say "move one object" but feels like in the spirit of things to roll to get them out of the way.

my other thought was using my light saber to deflect. Would it be possible to negotiate a difficulty down on this since I have Reflect at rank 3, I would usually have to suffer strain to reduce damage but since these are suffering strain (less than activating reflect)?

Not trying to rules lawyer myself an easier time just questions I had

No great questions!

So we're not in Structured Play (no initiative), so we're not really subject to the rules of the games Structured Play action economy.

And even in Structured Play, with this system one roll does not just equate to one thing that you do. One roll encompasses up to a minute of back and forths, with both sides doing many things. This is where/how we have the narrative "space" in this system for additional "Truths" to emerge from the narrative symbols on the dice.

You can just use the Move Power, make a Move Power check, Force Dice+Discipline Difficulty 0 (for Silhouette 0). And it's done. The only risk really is you may only get dark pips and so have to take some Conflict to do it - BUT you can't fail (if you're willing to take some Conflict+Strain) and IT WILL LOOK BADASS. Right?

RE: deflecting it with Lightsaber. You can handle it 2 ways (since you have the Reflect Talent):

1. You use the Reflect Talent. All you have to do is state that you use that Talent to do it, take the Strain the Talent causes, and it's done. No check. And it will look badass. It's probably what the Master did. Yes you may take more Strain doing that, then using a Skill or just taking the hit, but you can't fail (the Strain here is coming from your concentration and effort), and it will definitely project the most strength to the Gamorreans.

2. You can make a Lightsaber check at the described Difficulty. You might fail (which means you get hit, and don't look so strong). But you might avoid talking any Strain at all.

So in this narrative scene, it's about cost/benefit choices and the image you want to project and what you're willing to risk or "pay" for it.
