Your strike almost cuts the hollow in two, but it holds on to its pitiful existent and stabs back but it's easy to dodge it's clumsy strike.

(18) + 3 = 21

Attack - (1d20+4)

(4) + 4 = 8

Feeling confident at its response, Rawlyn finishes it off!

Your strike finishes of the hollow and it turns to ash as you absorb its soul. You have absorbed two Almian Legionnaires Souls.

The battle field past the broken wall now spreads out before you. Straight ahead is a all but destroyed road, that once would have lead to Firekeep but is now all but destroyed. To the left of the path, about 100 feet away is an encampment, in the center you think you spot a bonfire. Everywhere across the battlefield are hollows, many are preoccupied fighting each other assorted pieces of debris, but there is still risk. You spot several soldiers who are better equipped then the others, with lances and broadswords, and you catch glimpses of large figures in heavy steel armour.

Rolls

Save - (1d20+3)

(15) + 3 = 18

Rawlyn stays low, weapon still out. He heads towards the bonfire in the distance. He moves with as much silence as he can, putting his back to walls and waiting for hollows to saunter past at times. He is not unused to this kind of movement, even in armor, but with an empty flask the risk is as high as can be.

Rolls

Stealth - (1d20+6)

(15) + 6 = 21

You effortlessly move through the cluttered battle field, as you get close to the encampment, the heavily armoured hollows become more frequent but you can slip into the tents without much difficulty. Passing from tent to tent you almost arrive at the bonfire you say earlier, when the sound of metal hitting metal comes over the general din, the sound seems to be coming from the same direction as a small plume of smoke.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20-1, 1d20-1)

1d20-1 : (7) - 1 = 6

1d20-1 : (4) - 1 = 3

Rawlyn hides and listens, trying to figure if it is heading in his direction or not.

Rolls

Stealth to hide - (1d20+6)

(4) + 6 = 10

Perception to listen - (1d20+3)

(1) + 3 = 4

The sound is very much stationary.
Dec 19, 2016 5:57 pm
He takes a few breaths and nods to himself. Rawlyn then heads lightly and quietly over to the bonfire, hoping to slip past whatever the sound came from. "If it is another opponent, then I would do better to get to the fire first. The beautiful flame..." The thoughts bounding in his head.

You arrive at the bonfire without any issue.

His estus is filled and he allows the revitalizing glow to engulf his body. He feels as if he is relaxing for the first time in a long time. Rawlyn does not even know how long he sits and stares at the glow. Finally, he stands up and looks around. He sees the route he came from, and he looks to see if he can find anything else of interest. Anything to announce the presence of the sounds he heard earlier or another route he had not yet noticed. He had sheathed his shortsword, and now removes his rapier, just in case.
OOC:
Does this count as a short rest? or perhaps a long rest?

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+3)

(8) + 3 = 11

OOC:
Counts as long rest.
The beating noise is still in on the air. For a second you see the image of a female figure resting at the bonfire, but it fades quickly.
Dec 23, 2016 7:40 am
The figure gives Rawlyn a thought. "With a magical land such as this, perhaps there is more to this than I thought." He looks over the things he found since arriving here. The flask he knows of, but the souls he is less sure of. The white stone he has yet to check. He looks it over in an attempt to figure out what it is, or what it does.

Rolls

Arcana - (1d20)

(10) = 10

OOC:
You don't need to roll when you examine at a bonfire...
White Soapstone: In Legrion, the flow of time is distorted, and the White Sign Soapstone allows Undead to assist one another. Leave a summoning sign through which other undead can summon you into their world.

Fading Soul: The fading soul of a lost Undead who has gone Hollow and still. Use to gain 100xp or for trading. The soul is the source of all life, and even in undeath, or hollowing, the mind seeks souls.

Almian Legionnaire Soul: These soldiers from a distant land marched against the Firekeep at the command of those who would break the age of light. Use to gain 150xp or for trading.

With the white soapstone, Rawlyn takes a couple steps away from the bonfire and writes a symbol upon the ground. "If anyone so needs my help in this cursed land, they may have it." Afterwards, he readies himself to brave the beast he heard earlier, moving as quiet as he can.
OOC:
Unless I must wait where I am for the co-op to work.

Rolls

Stealth - (1d20+6)

(18) + 6 = 24

You sneak through the camp approaching the sound of metal on metal, when you come around a corner you are surprised to see not a monster by a man standing over an anvil, working the metal. He has not noticed you yet.
Dec 30, 2016 12:57 pm
Rawlyn relaxes with an exhale. He stands and enters, beings sure not to move suddenly. He does not sheathe his weapon, however. "Hail." He says plainly as he makes his presence known to the smith.
Jan 1, 2017 6:58 am
When you talk the smith ceases his work. He shouts, suggesting the segregation of his ears from the constant sound. Ohoho I'm glad to see someone that's not one of em 'ollows too. Names Galgroun, Smiths my trade do you need anything smithed?

Rawlyn smiles. He, too, is glad to meet someone still sane and not yet hollowed. "What can you do with this?" he says offering his rapier.
