You also have another Talent to choose im Chapter 6. I suggest looking over just the general summary (page 2 of the chapter). Then you will get an extra rank in one of the two Talent you have.
As for skills, you choose two Backgrounds, all of which are in Chapter 4.
The rest of your skills are chosen based off of your main stat (Body Mind and Soul) allotment. You can choose whete to put one rank of training in anything per rank in each stat associated with the stat. To note, you can not have more ranks in a skill than in its stat. Some more info is in Chapter 5. Also in Chapter 5 are Assets and Flaws. Assets cost EXP, and Flaws give you Exp.

OK. So it sounds like you want to roll stats. You can do that here.
I will make a couple quick adjustments to your skills based on your backgrounds.
It looks like the math on Assets and Flaws is a little off
However unless you are taking Illusion magic or Luximperium power Illusionist will not be helpful. Also Marked won't be applicable in a survival game. So we are looking at:

To determine your character’s Base Stats roll 1D6 four times and get rid of lowest score. Use remaining three as your scores for your base stats corresponding to table C-1.
As a nite you can roll a few ways. You can roll each individually, but you can roll it all together and just say 4D6h3 to roll 4 dice and keep the highest three. As a GM on this game I can always see what you roll.
I also have it set up so that when we are rolling you can state the difficulty with DC, you can see this in the last roll
