Teeth clenched, Erich fought to press the roiling arcane fury down, calming himself.
Only because the beastie is circling. The thought of allowing them to continue their looting chafes me, nastily. We know the kobolds are vicious. The only reason they aren't hurting anyone is because there isn't anyone there to hurt at the moment. He says through his clenched teeth.

"Move, already!" hisses Bughu, irritated at having to remain exposed far longer than necessary. He assesses where the kobolds and humans are in relation to the direction of the keep; will they have to pass near?

Bughu's right. Don't worry Erich. We're not letting it pass. Just putting it aside until we get these folks to safety. Then we suss out where the axes fall next.

Oridun is too far away to see any sort of identifying mark on the looters.
Linan nods, "Yes, there are humans mixed in with the monsters... That's why I was hesitant to trust you in the beginning. We can get by without confrontation, but we have to be quiet and quick," she says quietly, leading you further into the town, moving through the buildings as quietly as she can.
Things seem to be going well, until you come to an intersection of the road and, as you are about to cross, a group of looters, pouches full of coin hanging from their belts, come around the corner at the same time.

The looters pause for a moment, shocked at seeing real fighters in the town, but the one in the back shouts, "Get them!" and the other two move forward as the rear-most enemy casts a spell.
L2 and L3 swing at the woman. She is able to avoid the first attack, but the second catches her just below the ribs, slicing her belly open and she falls to the ground, writhing in agony.

Seeing the woman get slashed across the belly, Erich fumes darkly. Slamming the end of his staff into the ground he screams CELERI IGNIS and flings his hand forward. A mote of flame surges from his hand, streaking out at the looter in front of the woman.

Erich's fire bolt goes wide, slamming into a nearby building, but not setting it aflame, thankfully.
Perses rushes forward, taking a swipe at L2, but the looter proves to be more skilled than you would have thought, easily avoiding the attack.
Bughu's arrow hits L3 directly in the chest, knocking him dead to the ground.

Cuth runs forward, grabbing the spear from his downed wife and stabs at her aggressor. Distracted as he is by his grief and rage, his attack is easily parried by L2.

Oridun steps around to flank L2, then gestures at the spell caster. Feel the heat of the forge! A lance of white fire descends from the sky and engulfs L1.

Seeing that Oridun is casting a spell, L2 lashes out at him with his scimitar, but he is able to get his shield up in time to block the attack.
L1, seeing the battle turning against them, turns and runs away, but not before calling down a pillar of flame on Oridun. He quickly disappears around a nearby building.
Oridun sees the flames coming down and is just able to get out of the way before they fry him.
