Sign up for the official playtest here to get the official playtest material. Let me know if you have issues getting the playtest material, and we'll find a different solution.

I signed up there, but can't find the materials. Is it one of those things where they will email them to you some time after signing up?

Have also signed up. I'm assuming they'll release playtest stuff manually after the weekend...

They'll email a link out to you, took a couple of days for me after I registered.

I have the materials and have been looking through the pregenerated characters. There are so many choices here.

Since this game isn't public atm, I guess it's ok to share this link: Playtest materials. I might edit this post and remove it later if we decide to make the game public.

I'll give us all a couple of days to absorb the rules, then I'll set up a gameplay thread and we can get going ;) In any case I'm sure this will be alot of learning by doing.

I'll set up a thread for "Character creation" right away (or rather "Character selection" in this case, as we only have pregens, and not a character creation system atm).

How are we coming on the character selection? I've read through the first adventure, and it seems tailored to teach the system (no surprise there), so we can probably iron out the details of the system while playing it.

Looks like:

Dramasailor: Yolen/Phenna or Krev Glasch Tor/Bera Chim Tor
Cmbrian: Thyran Kaleel
Mr_Tricorder: Sevek
Falryx: blocked on Dramasailor (giving him first dibs to pick his type)
mcneil5: happy to round things out

So I think if Dramasailor can pick who he wants we'll be able to shake it out.

I'll settle down on Phenna. :)

Do we need a 'leader' / 'commander'? Or do we do okay if we don't pick one of the first 2 pregens?

I'm looking between Joshua and Nadim. Joshua has some skill overlap with Phenna, so I'm more inclined to head Nadim as a result.

This is my first time GM'ing here, so a quick question: I've set up a subforum that I called GM Notes. Just want to make sure you can't see it or access it. Can any of you see or access it?

The strange rubbery humanoid that eyed you as you entered the bar stands up from his place near the Ferenghi and tells you off in a stern voice. "Thats it, there will be none of that on my watch. Move along." He waves you on, while shooting the Ferenghi a even sterner look. "You know better Quark. The commander told you many a time that data is off limits. If I ever.."

Really feeling the potential of doing a game in the ST universe now :D
