Character creation

Pick one of the characters from the pregens we got with the playtest material. Feel free to flesh out descriptsion etc. if you feel like it.

As we start the first session you are cadets, fresh out of Starfleet Academy and just about to report to your first postings as junior officers.

As I understand it this will be only for the first adventure, where we get to learn the ropes. In the following adventures you will be the senior crew of the U.S.S. Venture. I'm guessing we will get new or updated characters for those adventures.

I'm thinking Yolen/Phenna or Krev Glasch Tor/Bera Chim Tor. A pilot or engineer, something along those lines.
Nov 27, 2016 1:37 pm
I like those engineer types, too, but I think I'll go for an Andorian redshirt. Thyran Kaleel .
Nov 27, 2016 2:18 pm
I was leaning toward Thyran too, but you beat me to it. No worries. I'll take Sevek instead. I've been playing several Vulcan NPCs in the LUG Trek game I've been running with my local group, so I should be able to feel out this character pretty easily.

I had leaned Vulcan, but as there's the one (and Mr. Tricorder would like to do that) - I think I lean towards Malik Demir (helmsman) or Joshua Newman (engineer). My third choice would be Nadim Patil (doctor).

I've not had a chance to look over them yet but I'll be happy with anything really, whatever we're short on in the away team :)

Quote:
Species: Vulcan

Values:
- Finding Order in the Chaos of the Unknown
- Precision and Rationality
- Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations

Attributes:
07: Bravery
10: Control
09: Empathy
08: Presence

02: Conn
02: Engineering

05: Science
---: 04: Quantum Mechanics
---: 03: Anthropology
---: 02: Biology
03: Medicine

Talents:
- Analytical: Whenever you attempt a Science Task, and you purchase one or more d20s using Momentum, you may re-roll your dice pool.
- Mind Meld: The character has undergone training in telepathic techniques that allow the melding of minds through physical contact. This is a Control + Sciences Task with a Difficulty of 1, which can be opposed by an unwilling participant (who would use Resilience + Command, also with a Difficulty of 1). If successful, the character links minds with the participant, sharing thoughts and memories. This link goes both ways, and it is a tiring process for the character. Complications can result in pain, disorientation, or lingering emotional or behavioral difficulties.
- Vulcan Nerve Pinch: The character has learned numerous anatomical techniques that can be used to swiftly and nonlethally incapacitate assailants. The profile for this attack is listed below. The character may use Science instead of Security making a nerve pinch Attack, and increases damage by the character's Science skill instead of Security (included).

Combat Stress: 0/11

Weapons and Attacks:
- Nerve Pinch: Melee, 7[CD] Intense, Size 1, Nonlethal
- Type 1 Phaser: Ranged, 3[CD], Size 2, Charge 3
