Krieger places himself between the elf and the half-orc. "Now, now, let's not start shooting at each other, this gets us nowhere."
Dec 10, 2016 9:24 pm
Catriona's attention isn't on Rolen, however. With a shriek she lunges at Baraq and bashes the aaracokra with her little shield.

"Not all animals can be tamed. In nature, only the strongest are meant to survive. They left us no choice."

With the half-orc lunging out of the way, Rolen releases the bolt towards the unconscious wolf.

Baraq matches Catriona's screech with one of her own, bloodied beak open wide to channel the call. She plants her shield to take the impact of the charge, then flares her wings out in challenge. Still under the throes of anger, Baraq hisses as she brings her head around to glare at the little child.
"Your eyes," she says, probably the first full sentence in Common spoken since the trip began, "would be delicious, if they weren't filled with stupid!"

"That's quite enough!" Krieger taps the scepter on the ground and a wave of red-orange light bursts out from him in a wide area.

Catriona flinches and retreats from the angered birdwoman. The child stammers, "I-I'm s-sorry...I just...I've never..." She looks down at the dead wolf and swallows her bile, as much in embarrassment as anything else. As Xavena speaks she looks up at the druid pleadingly. Then Krieger speaks a command, and Catriona subsides, obedient.

Baraq's rage dissipates as her leader commands everyone to stand down. She slips her warhammer into its loop on her harness and repositions her shield, hopping off the dead wolf and moving to the unconscious(?) one.

"Bunch of children." Rolen sighs while putting his crossbow away "If any of you have half a brain for your own survival, you may join me. If you would rather play friends with starving wolves, who will eat you the second you run out of food to give them, have fun with your short lives." Rolen heads to a cart, preferably empty, takes the reigns and continues on the path.

Catriona shoots Rolen's back a dark look. If I had a wolf friend I'd tell it to eat him!
