Krieger rolls his eyes as he returns his shield to his back and heads back to the cart. Elves...
Dec 10, 2016 10:54 pm
The elf looks at the end of the fight with disbelief.

This is not good. I knew this could not work.

Fighting now is... ridiculous. he simply utters.

Neraduin feels quite strange, he would've liked to lash out at the others for their incompetence and brainlessness but he remains silent, and mounts one of the carts.

Mimicking Krieger, Catriona straps her shield to her back, turns to follow the gnome, but hesitates...

Ada would like to collect both wolves in attempt to use their pelts for fur meat for food and basically use the whole wolf so that it doesn't go to waste
Dec 10, 2016 11:15 pm
Baraq plucks out the eyes of the other wolf, and offers them to Aera with an inquisitive glance. She also sets about skinning the bodies for the fur.

With a sigh Catriona finally turns away from the butchery and follows after Krieger.
Dec 10, 2016 11:22 pm
Krieger sits and offers Catriona a drink. "It was better them than us."
Dec 10, 2016 11:28 pm
Ada and Aera, please give me survival checks at advantage.
Dec 10, 2016 11:39 pm
Catriona accepts the offered drink and nods meekly. The world is far more cruel than she ever imagined. Once again she has shamed herself by losing her composure. She must show them she can pull her weight.

I assist with the skinning of the pelts, mending any holes as needed.

Ada easily strips the hide from one of the two dire wolves. As she begins to expertly butcher the creature, she cleanly slices off slabs of meat. In the end, she winds up with 40 pounds of meat, a pile of bones and viscera, and a fully intact wolf pelt.

Aera gladly takes the eyeball, offering a happy chirp in thanks , enjoying every moment of consuming it. He then sets to skinning the other wolf.

OOC:
Just for reference, Rolen isn't Kentucky Derby Racing the cart away but going at a steady pace so if people tried they could easily catch up to it.

Aera is not nearly as skilled in his dressing of the dire wolf. While he manages to get the hide off the beast, Xavena has a fair duty to get the hide repaired before it can be tanned. In terms of meat, you manage to salvage about 30 pounds of various cuts.

The sun is now finishing its trip below the horizon and dusk is starting to creep into the sky. The winds have stayed down, but the rain is still drumming down. Granted, the fall is weaker than it was before, but coming down pretty solidly nonetheless.

For both of you, the meat you now have will spoil in 24 hours if you don't decide to do something to cure and or preserve it. If you don't treat the hides somehow, they will also fester and spoil, but over the course of a week.

You can choose to push on through the night or you can look for a place where you can set up a camp for the night. There are ample tents in the carts, as well as firewood and a few cookpots. The kind baron was aware that your trip would take a few days to make and has seen to it that you at least have basic group accommodations. He did not provide any manner of bedrolls or blankets or firestarters or foodstuffs however. He trusts that experienced adventuring types such as yourselves would have taken care to pack items of that nature.

OOC:
If Rolen is aware of the tents, firewood, and cookpots or if he is accompanied by others, he will stop the cart.
Dec 11, 2016 3:03 am
Baraq takes to the air to scout for potential campsites, directing the party to the location if she sees one.

OOC:
You are certainly aware of them.
As Baraq soars over the landscape, fighting through now mild rains, she spies a likely area about 15 minutes ride further along their path, and then south. It looks to be an outcropping of rocks, standing almost 12 feet tall. There is a gully in the middle that looks like it could likely accommodate your entire retinue, so long as the carts stay out of the space.
Dec 12, 2016 6:18 pm
Baraq descends down to the lead cart and perches upon the side. "Shelter ahead, 15 minutes down the road. To the south, suitable campsite." She then starts to preen the feathers under one of her wings, sorting them in place.

"Food and a campfire first. We should keep watch for any additional trouble." With that, I set out to find any friendly creatures with whom I can have a conversation.
