Rolen smiles at Cat as he gathers 2 sets of dice placing them on the counter before moving back to the clothes "If you aren't sure if what you have is going to be warm enough, get more. I'd rather be warm and poor than dead and rich, gold can't save you from freezing; layers can."

"Well, those dresses are pretty but I'm sure they won't do in the mountains. We won't be going to any balls in the wilderness, will we?" Catriona laughs, still standing by the game shelf. "Oooh, dragonchess!" she exclaims, her eyes lighting up as she admires an obsidian and ivory set with a sandalwood board. She handles one of the pieces lovingly. "Father taught me to play. We used to play a lot when he would visit me and we would have tea and cakes in my garden but then his wife found out and she got angry so he didn't come so often anymore."

Sorry for the delay....as for ties, you guys played it out well enough. For the most part, unless two+ members of the group WANT me to adjudicate something like that, you guys are free to roll it up and play it out the way you'd like.
As Cat and Rolen continue looking through the wares at Bartholomew's, a rotund red-haired man staggers up to you.

Well! G'dday to you lord and lass! Welcome to Bartholomew's! The locals here call us Barty's sometimes, but no nevermind. What can I int'rest you in today? Fine dresses for a lovely lady and pristine gaming sets for the knowing sort. All very fair prices!

Rolen chuckles "No, I don't see them being of any use in the mountains." Seeing her excitement over dragonchess, he smiles "Dragonchess? I've never played before, you'll have to teach me some other time. I know it takes a good amount of concentration though so sadly it isn't a fitting game for our sort of travel."

Rolen turns towards the rotund man and bows "Thank you for your greetings. We are on our way to the mountains so sadly no dresses today. Do you have any warmer gear?"

Well I saw a bunch of Dwarven women's back going into a large wooden door but that wasn't the strange part. The weird part is that I saw a blond elf with a crown on his head floating away on a large tower. That has to be one of the strangest dreams I have ever had. There must have been something in those drinks last night.

Oh aye lad, I've plenty of warm gear. If you'd come down to this side, it's where I keep most of the mountaineering gear. We've lined leathers, as well as a fair number of heavy furs. If you are staying to the foothills, they'd be a bit too warm. We do have some unlined hide gear that may be a good fit. the man says, scratching his beard.

Ahhh yes. If you aren't planning on the top, the most you'll need are the lined leathers. The heavy furs are only for those looking to ascend the highest of the peaks in the worst of weather. he says, as he pulls out a few samples. Unembossed and undecorated will run you one gold a set, any single decoration added to it raises the cost one to ten gold. So a dyed, embossed, and gilt-adorned set would cost you around 20 gold.

Yes, of course! There is a small booth right over there. Here's the key! the man offers, holding up a heavy iron key on an oak stick.

I'm a Dwarf. There is no way I can't handle my drink. We are literally raised on it. And since when does drinks make you have strange dreams?
