In the middle of the night, if I catch Catriona passing by me in the woods, I will meld into a similar wolf form and hunt with her. Sometimes it's easier to understand others when one with nature, surrounded by nature. No words are needed.

You make it through the night unscathed, courtesy of having a town so close by. You set out in the morning, driving north once more.

Another clear day awaits you, only you pass no traffic this time. As the sun starts to go down, you see the faint rise of another village off in the distance, some 2-3 miles away over the plains. You'll be there in an hour or so. On the sides of the road, the grasses have grown in height steadily the entire day. They stand nearly chest deep on a human now, and densely so. It's almost as if the road is cut through a hedgerow.

Baraq, in flight above the party, veers slightly as something catches her attention. She flies ahead some distance, seeking the angle of the sun.

Aera heads back to the party, "People with weapons, hidden in the grass. Don't know if they've seen you yet, but be cautious." he says, pointing out their location. With that, he takes flight once again to keep an eye on them

Ada pulls out here shield and a Javelin when told that people are lurking in the field. Everyone stay close I'll make sure to put my shield between them and us. Anyone else have a shield We could form a front and use my spare javelins to strike. Ada smiles to herself for thinking of such a plan under short notice I hope this will make up for what I did the other day at the tavern She quietly thinks to herself while waiting for a response.

"I have a shield." Catriona says as she brings out her small wooden shield. She speaks a word, and the little shield sprouts spikes and thorns. She nods to Ada as she steps up beside her.

Going to go ahead and push forward. Those that didn't post actions, you'll be stayin' in the cart.
As you all prepare a grand wall of shields and weapons, the band of humans breaks free of the tall grass at a run, without uttering a single sound. They turn and head down the road towards you. As soon as they see the weapons drawn and shields presented, they pull up short. The man in the front puts a hand out to one side as he looks around, somewhat confused.

You ain't Jeffers! You dolts told me Jeffers'd be here and he'd - uh - he'd get a lark or two out of the ol' "fake highwayman" act! He says, first to you, the bit about dolts to the men on either side of him.

Beggin' yer pardon, m'name's Clint Greenwalt. Who might you lot be? the lead man says as he pulls his scarf down away from his face.
