Baraq does participate in the morning hunt, using her javelin to spear whatever they can catch.

I take leftover food that I have stored in my pockets and eat it for breakfast.

The pair of you easily get a fair amount of silvery trout. Throughout the morning, a ton of dwarves wander through the streets, heading towards the mines. Others ride off on carts, heading the same direction.
Mar 28, 2018 4:28 am
"Now what? We keep moving toward the mountain?"
Mar 28, 2018 5:48 am
"Find this Balan-Dur," says Baraq. "Where is this place that Keeps the one with knowledge of the Long Reach King?"
Mar 28, 2018 5:48 am
"No; we have to take a stop by the keep and find Balandur, he apparently holds a lot of knowledge."
Apr 4, 2018 11:54 pm
Baraq looks for one of the serving staff in The Griffin's Gullet, to find out where the keep is.
Apr 10, 2018 8:29 am
Catriona rouses late and finally joins the others in the common room. "Are we setting back out today? Heading for the mountains?"
OOC:
She didn't hear about Balandur.

Baraq, you easily find a serving wench wandering around delivering food. When you stop her, she smiles broadly at you, brushing a few errant blonde hairs out of her face.

The keep? It's back closer to the mountains. Easy enough to spot if you go three streets down that direction, and then turn right. Keep walking until you see the big gray building, you really can't miss it love. she says, her voice chipper. You setting out right away, can I get you a drink?

Cat, when you come into the common room, you see Baraq speaking with a serving wench and the others are milling about a table near the edge of the room.
Apr 10, 2018 3:39 pm
Baraq ignores the offer of a drink and returns to the table. "Big gray building. That way." Seemingly ready to head out, Baraq makes for the exit.
Apr 10, 2018 4:07 pm
Aera follows Baraq out the exit.

I give a curt nod and follow.

Rolen places a hand on Cat's shoulder "Yes but first we're stopping at a man's house who is said to have information on what we are looking for." He pauses and waits for everyone to leave "Is everything alright with you?"
Apr 14, 2018 4:24 am
Cat bites her lip. Up until the moment Rolen asked her she has been loathe to admit even to herself how she really feels, but it's like she can tell Rolen anything. "A little homesick, I guess. And in way over my head." She shakes her head, annoyed at her show of weakness. "What am I saying?! I HATE home! I'm never going back! I can do this!"
Apr 14, 2018 9:57 pm
Rolen lets out a 'tsk' "Such confliction at such a young age." He kneels down, keeping his hand on her shoulder "It is okay to miss something, even if you think you dislike it; especially something as intimate as your home. Most of your memories were made there, I'm sure you have some good ones—everyone does." He pauses, his eyes becoming glassed and a somber look falling upon his face "I... I hate my home to; not a second goes by when I'm there that I'm reminded of...them. Yet, I miss it all the same. You can love and hate something at the same time, they are not mutually exclusive to each other. I'd like to visit your home after all of this—perhaps then, you'll be more ready that you can give me a tour." He stands, gives her shoulder a light shake as he releases and smiles "As for you being over your head, I think we all are...but we will prevail nonetheless. Come, let's not let those birds start the introductions or at least try to salvage whatever hell they are no doubt going to put that old man through."

You make your way through the early morning city watching as it comes alive. Dwarves and humans move through the streets, discussing business. There is some level of tension between many of the groups, but nothing that raises any alarm for you. Certainly it is less stress than you've heard in noble negotiations in your own homes, or among any of the people you've been a part of. True to the serving wench's word, you find the domineering keep easily enough. Heavy stones form a four story rectangular tower that sits behind a low wall. A heavy black gate stands open, flanked by a pair of humans in full plate with halberds in hand. Their helms have a large orange plume cascading down the back. As you approach, the one on the left holds out his hand.

Hold. Identify yourselves and your purpose please.

Baraq tilts her head to the side, then angles her gaze as though judging the pecking distance. "Baraq. Going to Balan-Dur."
Apr 26, 2018 4:23 pm
You're here to see the old codger huh? Well, head on in. Inside the main hall, take the third hall on the left and four doors down on the right is his study. Just knock a few times, he may not hear otherwise.
Apr 26, 2018 4:43 pm
Baraq walks into the keep, following the directions until she arrives at the door. She decides to knock with her warhammer, twice.
Apr 26, 2018 4:56 pm
As you head to the specified door, you see that draperies hang along the walls, in stark primary colors. A variety of sigils are visible in the middle of the banners. Additionally, you see several suits of armor standing at the ready against the walls between the doors. When you arrive at the door, you see that it is made of heavy oak, banded in iron straps.

Your warhammer thumps loudly. At the first one, you hear a shocked Ahh! What?! come from behind the door. After the second, you hear, Alright alright. I'm comin'. No need to summon the cavalry! from inside. A moment later, and the door swings open, revealing an old hunched elf, with stringy hair falling down to his chest. What do you want, birdman?
