Evaluate transporter - (2d20)

(213) = 15

Feb 1, 2017 9:42 pm
OOC:
I'm afraid this shuttle doesn't have a transporter, as you'll recall we checked in the first scene
Feb 2, 2017 6:56 pm
OOC:
I'd forgotten. :)
Feb 2, 2017 7:27 pm
OOC:
Someone can try to risk going over there and rounding them up. This is where interesting decisions come from ;)
Feb 2, 2017 7:37 pm
"I'm of no use fixing the shuttlecraft. Perhaps I could help round up the remainder of our missing scientists, if someone could give me a hand. Perhaps we should team up again, Thyran?"
Feb 2, 2017 7:52 pm
Thyran springs out of the shuttle. "Dr. Schipp looks like she's capable of holding her group together. They're this way." He heads off in the direction the sensors indicated at a brisk pace.
Feb 2, 2017 7:59 pm
Nadim eagerly follows -- phaser at the ready.
Feb 2, 2017 9:35 pm
Having located the remainging devolution victims, getting to the clearing is no problem. After about 15 minutes --Phenna should be finished with the shuttle repairs about now-- you arrive at the clearing, but the science team members there are all disoriented and non-coherent.
OOC:
Rounding up the scientists will be a Presence + Command Task of difficulty 2. If you want you can use Empathy + Medicine to assist the check (Basic trauma psycology should do the trick).

Phenna may have another go on the repairs, and someone else (Sevek?) should start plotting a course:
Reason + Science Task with a Difficulty of 2. Two Momentum may be spent from this Task to reduce the Difficulty of the pilot’s Task (in the next scene -- if all goes well) by one.
Feb 2, 2017 9:43 pm
Phenna keeps working on the systems.
OOC:
Using 2 momentum to add d20s
OOC:
Ouch. That's only 1 success and 2 Complications. So that means no progress made, correct?

Rolls

Control + Engineering (TN 12) - (4d20)

(13201120) = 64

Progress Rolls - (5d6)

(35212) = 13

Feb 2, 2017 9:53 pm
Nadim tries to ensure everyone is cognizant and listening to Thyran...
OOC:
Since it was an assist, I only rolled one die. Think that's right. Can I argue my Emergency Medicine 4 skill applies here and the 3 being less than that means Specialness? I forgot what specialness, to be honest...

Rolls

Empathy + Medicine (15) - (1d20)

(3) = 3

Feb 2, 2017 10:02 pm
The nacelles fixed, Phenna now starts re-routing the power relays from the main reactor. However, half way to the reactor disaster strikes! Having overlooked a connector hidden beneath some debris, she makes a wrong conenction and a console shoots up in sparks. The inside of the shuttle is filled by thick smoke making it hard to work, but she has to push through. Luckily no critical systems were harmed!
OOC:
Quite right. The complications increase the difficulty of the next task back to 3, and gives the extended task a resistance of two.

So, on fixing the ship: Progress 7/12, Breakthroughs 1/2, Resistance 2 (resistance deducts 2[CD] rolled for the remaining checks, you may spend 1 momentum to overcome this for each check), Difficulty of next task: 3 (subsequent tasks 2 if nothing else happens)
Feb 2, 2017 10:03 pm
OOC:
falryx: sure. specialness means an extra success, so you already give Thyran 2 successes, all he needs to do now is to roll one success ;)
Feb 2, 2017 10:05 pm
OOC:
If someone else wants a crack at the repair, feel free. If not, I'll give it a third attempt.
Feb 3, 2017 12:28 am
Using his best command voice, Thyran tries to get the scientists to focus on him, aided quite ably by Patil.

"Come this way! Dr. Shipp wants you to come!"
OOC:
TN 10 - 3 successes, but one complication!

Rolls

Gather disoriented scientists - (2d20)

(820) = 28

Feb 3, 2017 8:03 am
You see a small recollection in their eyes at the mention of Dr. Shipp, and they come eagerly at your request. However, they are a unruly bunch, and one of them manages to sprain their ankle in the commotion. Meanwhile the storm is picking up in intensity, and you see clouds of light dancing in the sky, like aurora's of all colors.
OOC:
One of you will have to carry the unlucky scientist. That will be a Resilience+Medicine task with a difficulty of 1.

Phenna: go ahead and roll another repair check

Party momentum 4/6
Feb 3, 2017 4:54 pm
Nadim, determined to get these scientists safely home and save some lives holsters his phaser, hoping the local fauna have decided to stay clear. He gets under one of the unruly, and smelly scientists and helps him hop along.
OOC:
Spending a point of determination for automatic success -- or do I need to roll still?
Feb 3, 2017 4:59 pm
Phenna curses under her breath, coughing away the smoke. Fine, be that way system. I suppose I'll just have to jury rig you too!

She begins fiddling with pieces and putting them back together once more.
OOC:
Spending 2 momentum to get 3 scenes out of the repair. Jury rigging reduces the difficulty by 2, back down to a 1. Will spend 1 more for an extra d20.

Rolls

Control + Engineering (TN 12) - (3d20)

(101216) = 38

Progress Rolls (-2 [CD] for the resistance) - (3d6)

(423) = 9

Feb 4, 2017 1:57 pm
OOC:
Falryx: no that's ok. Also understandable considering the complications on the last tasks. Fun how that crops up when we are trying to wrap up an adventure ;)
Nadim picks up the scientist that sprained his ankle, and as you make it back as Phenna comes out of the smoking shuttle to take a fresh breath.

Rolls

Resistance 2[CD] - (2d6)

(16) = 7

Feb 6, 2017 4:20 pm
"Good god! Are you okay, Phenna?!" Nadim asks.
Feb 6, 2017 4:46 pm
Phenna slaps out sparks and and the smoke, taking a breath.

I am, but these last few repairs are proving to be a touch more difficult than I would have thought. If one of you other sciency and engineering types could take a stab at it while I catch a breather, I'd appreciate it. Phenna says, coughing lightly.
