Knuckles, Georgi diBesti, and Toni Durante. Tell me what I don't know about 'em. Don't play stupid, or I'll have to run that backtrace on your system again and see just what kind of degenerate activity you've filled your time with. Phaerin says as she cocks her head at the fry cook.

"Ah the three that got hit? Not much. All Contralto's but not connected far as I know. Would have liked to have been a fly on the wall in that shootout or at least a servo droid! I wonder if they caught any audio?"

"You can pull audio from the robot baristas!?" Skegg spoke with complete fascination in the idea. He isn't much of a tech person.
Jan 15, 2017 5:29 pm
"Sure you can. They're basically mobile recording devices. It's how manager's stop customers bullshitting about what they ordered. We use them here too. I'm sure a Tek judge worth his salt should know how," he looks sideways at Phaerin with a grin

You are absolutely right Decker. Not only a Tek judge worth his salt but professional thugs know that too. Are you tellin' me someone equipped enough to hit three made men that quickly would be so careless as to tell the 'tender "hey mate give me a scotch so I can nip off after whacking these fools." We are already pulling those tapes. Let's try again genius. What would those three have been having a cuppa over? Phaeton says, sarcasm dripping from her voice.

"I have no idea. Pull your lie detector out if you don't believe me!"

Noss actually does reach for his birdy, but first asks Phaerin "You believe him judge?" Deferring to her position on the man.

I probably shouldn't, but for right now until we get a chance to scope the tapes, sure. Plus, we know where he works, where he lives, and with only a little effort, where he plays. If I find anything to the contrary, I'll have him isocubed for obstruction faster than he can serve a burger. She looks about the dismal room. It's a pity, really Decker. Just a bit of effort and you could have made a heck of a Tekker, instead of a con. Tsk. She pivots on her heel and walks out. As she gets over to her Lawmaster, she toggles the commo unit.

Command, can you link me up to the Tek squad on the Konstant Cup job? Evidence question.

Judge Skegg dragged his feets while Phaerin walks out. His stomach grumbled. He looks over at Noss, "Too bad it isn't my cheat day... Im starving."
Jan 17, 2017 3:55 pm
Noss smiles at the sentiment, thinking about the last time he had a burger. "We'll just have to come back when it is." Whilst Phaerin checks on the lead, Noss asks Skegg "Say this really is the tremors of a war. Which gang do you think would have the nuts to strike the Contraltos like this?"
Jan 17, 2017 3:57 pm
"Patching you through Judge Phaerin."

The familiar sound Of Tek Judge Judge McCleese comes on the line, "What can I do for you, Judge?"
Jan 17, 2017 4:06 pm
Did your guys pull the tapes from the servo droids at Konstant Cup? Wondering when we could get hands on whatever audio they would have captured.
Jan 17, 2017 4:46 pm
"Tapes? Oh the recording audio? No, no-one thought about that. I'll run what there is through voice recog and send you the file. Give me five minutes."
Jan 17, 2017 9:19 pm
Skegg stops to think for a moment, but the smell of food is distracting. "Hrm. It's hard to say... the gangs have been fairly quiet after their last shitstorm." He makes his way to Phaerin's Lawmaster. "What do you think?"
Jan 17, 2017 9:30 pm
Honestly I'm not sure. Most of the gangland politics are outside of my focus. Sure, I busted a few folks like Decker in there when they crossed over into Tek crimes, but that was my only involvement. That damnable Tekker McCleese didn't bother to have him, or any of his guys, pull the audio. They are going back through it now. Believe you me, I'll be filing a complaint with Control when we're done with our tour. There's a few improvements even in these few days that need to be run up. That bit with the Slabster? And the Mopad? Why don't we have you Streeters equipped with something that is better designed to disable motor vehicles without having to shoot out engines and tires? Phaerin starts to rant, feeling her temper get up and a flush creeping up her neck.

My apologies Judge. None of this is against you.

"Standby by Judge Phaerin. Audio coming through to your Lawmaster. Gravel voiced man seems to be using a speech synthsiser"

The radio crackles and the text flashes up as the voices play..

Gravel-Voiced Man: ‘... I know you all got names.
You had connections. I want to know who did
the fingering. Was it The Raft? Was it Palazzo?
Someone higher?’

Durante: ‘Spug-off man; why should we tell you
nothin’? Who are you anyway, pokin’ your face in
stuff that don’t got nothin’ to do with you?’

Knuckles: ‘Yeah, like, hit the pedway, man.’

Gravel-Voiced Man: ‘The name...’

DiBesti: ‘Was a long time ago. Take a hike. We
don’t remember.’

Gravel Voiced Man: ‘Perhaps I can help your
powers of recall.’

(A single gunshot. A woman’s scream. Sharp
intakes of breath)

Durante: ‘Shit man... he was a civilian...’

Gravel Voiced Man: ‘Now he’s a valued contributor
to the Resyk programme. Shall I include the girl?’

Knuckles: ‘Shit...’

Gravel Voiced Man: ‘The name...’

Durante: ‘Okay... okay... you gonna bring the
Judges down on us like a pile of ‘crete, man.
Listen, man who squealed... I can’t be sure. I
heard it was Bennetti.’

Gravel Voiced Man: ‘The accountant?’

Durante: ‘Yeah...’

Gravel Voiced Man: ‘He still walking?’

DiBesti: ‘Sure, man. He’s retired now, got himself
a luxi-pad in...’

Durante: ‘Shut the spug-up DiBesti!’

Gravel Voiced Man: ‘That’ll do...’

Durante: ‘Wait!’

Gunshots, very close together. End of audio.
