An Awakening

So the sun was directly overhead? And has been moving toward the waterline horizon. So forest extends east, water to the west. Anything resembling contrails in the sky?

Yes, the sun was directly overhead when you originally woke. It's now moved slightly toward the water side.

As your eyes search the skies, it's a muddled mix of clouds (mainly cumulonimbus with some cirrus flecked throughout). You don't make out any distinct contrail like patterns.

Everyone make a Mind roll (1d100 and then however many D10 you can add based on the points you put in Mind).

Refresh my memory on how that works?

For each point in an attribute, you can add 1d10 to a roll for that attribute. So in this case, Jim's mind roll would be 1d100, 2d10. Unfortunately, Gamersplane doesn't like 1d100+2d10 as a formula, so you have to make it separate items:

In this case, my result is a 107, a very good result. :)

Rolls

Mind Roll - (1d100, 2d10)

1d100 : (93) = 93

2d10 : (410) = 14

And to go further with the rolls. The amount of points (each point subtracts 10 I believe) you have in that attribute (brawn, agility, mind) determines the goal to reach. I believe the base goal for a roll is at least 70 for a success. Whereas if you have a 2 for brawn, you would subtract 20 from 70 meaning you must get at least a 50 to succeed.

Nope, attributes grant you d10s to roll towards the goal without changing the difficulty. Skills give you 5 points off of the difficulty.

Let's do an example:

Task: Swimming across the Channel. Target = 80 (it's hard!)
Character 1: Brawn 3, Swimming 2
Character 2: Brawn 1, Swimming 3
Character 3: Brawn 2, Swimming 0

Character 1 rolls 1d100 + 3d10. Their target is 70 (80 - 5 - 5)
Character 2 rolls 1d100 + 1d10. Their target is 65 (80 - 5 - 5 - 5)
Character 3 rolls 1d100 + 2d10. Their target is 80 (80)

Having the attribute boosted makes it somewhat more likely that you achieve by raising your total roll.
Having a skill makes it more likely that you achieve by making it easier to perform.

Pushing forward a touch, if Maskcot jumps in, great!
As you are inspecting the water and the locale and getting a small shelter constructed, the sun has continued to drift overhead, you begin to cast longer shadows now. The flames are starting to die down on the aircraft. A small breeze has picked up, coming in off the water. From deeper in the wooded area you begin to hear birds calling.

Marty retreats to the shelter after success from his mission of finding supplies (what the supplies are? TBD) to help the group survive. Assuming that a fire as not yet been prepared, he stacks some logs in the shape of a camp fire in preparation for a cold night (the fire is not lit, just prepared).

What supplies were you searching for? You scavenged materials for your shelter and some firewood. You haven't gone searching for anything else yet.

That's what I figured. But he just looked along the edge for anything of use; berries, smaller sticks, rocks.
Jan 5, 2017 2:10 pm
There are no berries that you can see, however there are some acorns on the ground. There are plenty of sticks lying about, and some small rocks. You don't see anything much larger than a kiwi/clementine.
Jan 5, 2017 2:13 pm
He rounded up a bunch of sticks and topped them off with several acorns. He left the rocks behind for now.

As the sun begins to set, you both hunker down in the hastily assembled shelter and fall asleep. Through the night, nothing much happens. As the sun comes up, you rouse yourselves and look outside. The flaming hunk of wreckage is no longer flaming and as you get near to it, it doesn't give off any real heat any longer.

Martin slowly stands up and takes a better look at the wreckage. Shall we go explore that area?

Are you saying there are kiwis and/or clementines growing here?
