Not sure if this is a feature or a bug - but I can now see the character sheets of all the other players in the games I'm in -- and not just those I'm GMing.

If a Player uploads a character sheet to the archive then anyone can view it. This is likely what's happening, though it could also be a bug.

This was reported, though not sure why. It still doesn't let people view non-library characters and so I'm wondering if this is a feature I should actually keep.

I think he is talking about the bottom bar with 'Tools, Characters, Game Details' the characters popup used to only show your character, unless you were a GM then it showed everyone; now it shows everyone regardless. I think it would be useful if you could view the character sheets but unless the person added the character to the library you get a no character found page, making the character popup a long list(especially depending on the game) of characters you can't view.

Well, if i were to keep it, I'd fix it so if you couldn't access the character, you wouldn't get it as a link. Instead, it'd be a reference to the characters label (or name? That's actually a different discussion I thibk).

I think having a quick view list of the people/characters have its uses, getting a quick class/race/name (depending on how the person labels their character) refresher of your party is nice.

Some thoughts that might improve it:
• Make your character stand out from the others to easily find it Especially if you're in a large game; I don't think some characters are even on the list.
• Make it known what characters are shared to the library and are viewable.
• Remove the DM characters from the characters list and make it a separate popup on the bar.

I like the feature, assuming that it's restricted to those characters you can actually view. I would also enjoy it if the "add to library feature was a bit more apparent to newbies.

I add all of my characters to the library, but not everyone else will notice that feature, even if they don't mind having visible characters. Perhaps you could make a GM toggle for it to allow all characters to be visible to those within the game? It wouldn't add them to the library, but would be specific to the game itself.

Just a thought.

If this behaviour is to be changed, the proper place for any kind of toggle is probably in the game screen. A checkbox "Hide sheet from other players" could be player editable, with perhaps a GM override in the game setup.

My takeaway from this is: fix the current feature so it goes back to the original workings, then we open up a larger discussion back and forth about how to improve it.

I actually like seeing who everyone is playing as, and I like seeing everyone's character sheet. Being able to toggle it would be nice for those who like to keep their secrets.

I actually like seeing the info too, but it would be nice if there were some indicator of which characters you could view and those you could not.

Yah, when I change it, characters you can view will be links, characters you can't won't be. This leads to the bigger question of if the label serves much purpose, or it's useful and needs to be repurposed, but that's a topic for another thread.

Suggestion: Highlight the characters that you own in some way. For example, you could put them on top and add some space between them and the rest.

Silly azira, you're asking me to do appealing yet functional design work. I thought we learned I lack there :p

FYI - I now only see /my/ characters in the lower bar -- but now that's true even when I'm a GM.

Huh!

to clarify, in my FAD game, I can't see all players despite being the GM. however in my EOTE game I can see all players. so the results are inconsistent, yet seem to "stick" on the game.

Further clarification. Here's the status of all my games:

Star Wars Force and Destiny: Beginner Adventure -- I am the GM, but only see my characters.
Talos: The Crimson Crusade -- I am a player, but can see all characters.
Star Wars EOTE: Green Mamba LLC -- I am the GM, and can see all characters (GOOD)
One Ring: A Fellowship Awakens -- I am the GM and can see all characters (GOOD)
Star Wars: Jedi Misfits -- I am the GM and can see all characters (GOOD)
Gods of the Fall: A New Pantheon -- I am the GM and can see all characters (GOOD)
Adventures of the U.S.S. Venture -- I am a player and can see all characters
Traveller: It's all about the credits -- I am a player and can see all characters

That... is super confusing. I don't even understand how that's happening... As it's not breaking everything right now, I'm leaving this be as I fix/upgrade the entire forum system.

Having the same issue as falryx in one of the older games I'm GMing (just to give you some more references to work from when you get around to it).

Kingdom if Birodalom - I can only see my NPC characters and not the PCs.

The one other thing I noticed is that in that game I do NOT have the 'Tools' menu option on the bottom either. (All of my other games have the 'Tools' option)

Wanted to update this. I am having this issue in my Out of the Abyss game. No Characters tab or Tools tab down at the bottom.

I'm a player in this game, and I do see the Characters and Game Details tab. However, I do not see Tools, and when I open the Characters tab I only see my character.
