Issue #1: The Coming Storm

Mimic, you successfully intercept the skull-faced woman's attack, catching the staff with your body, but she uses this chance to cripple the opposition. She draws a heavy-looking pistol and presses it under your chin. You're going to have to take a powerful blow.

While she's occupied with those two, she doesn't notice Omen come at her from the side. She slows a bit and shifts away from you, but doesn't outwardly show any signs of pain. She holds the staff up and shoots up into the air once again.
OOC:
??? marks Afraid and uses a condition move: Flee from danger.

OOC:
Rolling...
Mimic stares the woman down as she pulls the trigger, causing his head to snap back. Though he refuses to give ground, when he regains his composure, his jaw appears offset, probably broken, and the skin has been stripped away from the area around the exit wound below his right eye, revealing the metal skeleton beneath. "This will be much easier if you give up now."
OOC:
After that attack, Mimic has been Damaged, he'll probably need to get that looked at. He is also Angry that he has been damaged so and that someone would make an attempt on his friends' lives.

Rolls

Take a Powerful Blow - (2d6)

(53) = 8

Feb 6, 2017 12:49 am
I keep climbing up, trying to find the floor that Omen was on before she was hit by the woman. Not knowing what exactly to look for, I reach outwards, using my energy absorption as a sort of compass to point me in the direction of the machine we need to shut down. pleaseworkpleaseworkpleasework
OOC:
When you unleash your powers to overcome an obstacle, reshape your environment, or extend your senses, roll + Freak. On a hit, you do it. On a 7-9, mark a condition or the GM will tell you how the effect is unstable or temporary.

Rolls

Unleash da powah! - (2d6+1)

(33) + 1 = 7

Chameleon, you do pick something up a couple floors up. Your sense of it is weak and a little hard to pinpoint, but whatever it is, it's big. Like, really big.

OOC:
Should I auto-suffer a condition or roll Take a Powerful Blow for the "trading blows" we did?
Feb 6, 2017 1:02 am
I send out a quick group text. Keep her busy, but I'm gonna need help. Whatever this machine thing is, it's big. I'm almost there-ish
OOC:
Should I mark a condition?
Feb 6, 2017 1:07 am
OOC:
Omen: you don't need to, you were successful and so you don't suffer any negative effects from it.
Cammy: No need, it's a new(?) application of your power and so I made it an unstable effect instead.

OOC:
Game says that "On a hit, trade blows," which is where we both damage each other. One of the choices that I can make is to ignore her damage, but I chose to frighten instead. If I'm reading it right!

OOC:
I'm not sure how that works then.
Feb 6, 2017 1:38 am
OOC:
Okay, yes, trading blows would trigger a condition normally, but she's fighting 3v1 right now, so while she did get at least one hit in, it wasn't enough to inflict anything serious.

Procyon reaches into her backpack and pulls out her pistols. "C'mon, Omen, go all Arnold on her ass!" She fires at the Lady in White.
OOC:
Using a Team to give Omen +1 on his next roll and choosing to create an opportunity for my team for the successful roll.

Rolls

directly engage threat - (2d6)

(44) = 8

Aeon Crow's feet flail about wildly as Emma's flight field leaves him weightless. His phone beeps and like any teenager, he pulls it out to check. "Cammy is near the thing. See her?" He looks about for the Chameleon, forgetting for a second that he is suspended above a deathly fall.

OOC:
Great! And since you rolled an 8, pick one: resist or avoid their blows, take something from them, create an opportunity for your allies, or impress, surprise, or frighten the opposition.

Emma shook her head, pulling Aeon up with her. "Not yet, but tell her we'll meet her there." The girl bit her lip softly, looking back towards the exit. "Hopefully the others have things handled below."

Polaris moved steadily towards that source of energy she had sensed the moment she had arrived at the building, eyes frantically scanning her surroundings for anything that might have been a giant weather machine.
OOC:
Is the building just like scaffolding this high up? Or are there finished floors/walls?
Feb 6, 2017 11:37 am
There are a few half-finished floors, but this high the building is mostly incomplete. Between your senses and Cammy's, and also a bunch of probably-not-construction cables, you don't take too long to find it. It's… smaller than you expected. Still the size of a refrigerator, but it's not the size you'd expect out of a machine that created a storm covering most of the city. It's a large-ish metal box, featureless except for a few blinking lights and a bundle of cables coming out from one side, with a long metal rod extending up through the ceiling.

Hecate followed along and seeing what could be the device she charged forward using the in a china shop maneuver to damage the device or it's cables.

Rolls

In a China Shop 2d6+Danger - (2d6+2)

(44) + 2 = 10

Void Fist lost watching the combat off to the side points up and opts to take the stairs or use his martial arts training and climbing claws to make it up. He didn't really want to explain to his grandpa how he got shot. Sometimes not being super powerful erases your presence. Using it to his advantage he tries to use his powers of stealth and not being very effective in Ms. Maims perspective to his advantage. The device seemed pretty non descript and didn't offer a lot of clues as to what it did and how to work it.

"Huh... well I guess the rod calibrates weather and the cables lead to a power source? I'll check the cables to see what they're going to. Someone should figure out how to break that rod..." he offers.
OOC:
I'll try and get to the device and figure things out.
Feb 6, 2017 3:10 pm
"Wait! Hecate, that might not be the best..."

Hecate, your attempt to damage the device is partially successful, and you leave a sizable dent in the side. However… you will have to take a powerful blow, because that thing is still plugged in and super electrified.
