Phineas stays close to Ulfren as he searches the outpost. He doesn't speak, recognizing (and being afraid of, quite frankly) Ulfren's anger.

Ulfren heads for the spiraling stairs to access the other level. His rage subsides as the outpost appears to be clear, and his searches become more methodical rather than spontaneous.

Ryyrik lets out a pained, boisterous laugh "Ye clever bastards!" He straps his shield to his back as he runs up to the cave-in, he grips his warhammer in two hands and swings it down at the rocks "Come on, they're behind this."

Ulfren assists in removing more of the debris, trying to clear a means to enter.

Ryyrik turns his focus to the small opening, attempting to widen it large enough to fit through.

Billy gets in on some of that sweet digging action.

Ulfren kicks a bit more stone away to clear a path. "Easy lads," he grunts as he lets his darkvision adjust. "If anyone's in there, they may be spears-out if they's expect elf-boys like our friend back there." If there's space, he tries to squeeze through the opening to enter the tunnel.

As Ulfren heads into the unknown, Billy casts Sanctuary and Resistance on him. And follows right on in after him.

"A dwarf knows a dwarf. No fancy pants elf would of been able to dig through that stone." Ryyrik retorts as he redraws his shield and puts it at rest as he follows Ulfren.

Phineas breaths deep the earthy smell of underground. Despite the current danger, he allows himself a moment to feel down to his bones the comfort of being surrounded by stone in every direction.

He follows at a distance. Although he's not much help hauling rubble, he bestows Guidance upon the strong dwarves in front of him so they might hear the stone whisper which boulders will move easily and which will cause a cave-in. He follows the others into the hole.

Baern follows into the crevice, downshifting from his Guardian form.

"If there are dwarves in here, we should announce ourselves. Let them know we are friend," Ulfren suggests. He takes a deep breath and shouts into the darkness, "Ho there! The Hammer of Axelforge have returned!"

He then proceeds forward.

Gunnar follows Ulfren's lead.

Ulfren pauses to ensure his shield and axe are ready. "Gunnar!" he calls out. "Would we have rigged the tunnel with more surprises?"

"We would've for sure! Lemme check if any of 'em are still active."
