Ulfren points for the hallway leading south.

Ulfren looks to where the minecart passed. "Let's see if any of our kin are there," he says, pointing to the track.

Gunnar nods and follows Ulfren.

Phineas watches as the stone creeps up his legs. He meets his end with dwarven stoicism and poetry.

A stone I died, and rose again a plant.
A plant I died, and rose an animal.
An animal I died, and was born a Dwarf.
Why should I fear? What have I lost from death?

Gunnar rushes up to Phineas, but is helpless to stop the transformation. Unbelieving, uncomprehending, he grasps his friend's shoulder long before he's turned to stone, almost wishing the same fate upon himself. "Goodbye," he whispers, hanging his head.

Ryyrik turns to see the commotion behind him. His angry, determined grimace fades to a look of horror as the stone crawls up Phineas. His brows furrow, as lets out a low growl, his expression returning to anger again. He takes his sword by the blade and holds it in his off-hand then slams his right fist into his chest "You fought for our home, same as me an' Ulfren. I don't give a fuck what you are, it's an honor to call you my brother."

Ryyrik grabs his swords handle and releases with his off-hand then begins after the cart pusher.

Ulfren waits until Ryyrik and Gunnar have said their farewells. He approaches the statue and clasps the back of the neck, pressing his forehead and nose against Phineas's in a shared embrace. He speaks, his voice like the shifting of pebbles, "We breath the same air, and we share the same blood. Whether flesh or stone, you are my kin."

He breaks the embrace, pausing to tap the butt of his axe against Phineas's chest. "Don't go getting lost. We'll be back for ya."

Ulfren thinks to press against the wall when he sees the guards.

Gunnar ducks back behind the corner and signals the rest of the squad.
