"Let's move forward, otherwise I may just enjoy the hot bath. I'm sure you'd rather be spared that image."

"C'mon. There's the end of the hall we've yet to visit." Ulfren heads towards the eastern portion of the mines, pausing briefly to indicate the unexplored room.

Sorry guys, I will jump back on it this weekend, I just started a new job and it is whoopin me

This room is another small dining and rest area. It is currently unoccupied. To the East (It's not easy to see in the picture) is a double set of doors.

Ulfren silently points at the double doors to the east. His hand rests upon the head of his warhammer, while he keeps his shield up.

Frigga will hold her finger up, as she contorts her fingers in strange ways. She mutters in whispered tones the words, "Vulpinus dentinus, venguen achillus."
OOC:
She is casting Conjure Animals to summon 8 wolves to do our bidding as we continue to explore the region.
[ +- ] 3rd lvl: Conjure Animals (Conjuration)
She then ushers the wolves to stand by the door, and Frigga will open the door and then she will say, "Search and destroy the drow," urging them to sniff out and pack-attack any drow in the room.

The doors are heavy, dwarven craftsmanship. They once would have opened easily, but age and no upkeep have taken their toll. With quite some effort they do push open, revealing the outside world.

Frigga stands outside for the first time in ages. She takes her left boot off and feels the dirt and stones on her bare foot, and smiles big.

She holds her hand out and casts Druidcraft to get a sense of the weather, and she observes the sky this day/night.

General time of day, DM?
Apr 29, 2021 4:38 pm
Early morning, shortly after sunrise.
Apr 29, 2021 5:04 pm
As the sunlight pours over her skin, she stretches and receives rejuvenation.

She whistles, calling her pack of wolves to her.

She then tells Ulfren, "Do you think there are others, like us, still in these vaults? Perhaps we should go back in and find them."
Apr 29, 2021 5:24 pm
"As much as I would love to see the rest of the kingdom," says Ulfren, "the dwarves here need our help. There's gotta be a way to break the drow hold over the lot of 'em. Maybe the answer lies deeper in the mines, where those rail tracks go."
Apr 29, 2021 5:43 pm
"Agreed. Let's head that way."

Frigga is going to verbally command the wolves to scout ahead stealthily, about 60 feet ahead of Ulfren and I. If they are to find someone, they are to come back to let us know.

Clearly the battle is over, So Who All Survived? And What was that they did to us seems to me might be worth trying to learn how to do it.
Kurnd is very confused a vial of poison empty in his hand. he looks around for the first time.

There can be no doubt. Might of us dwarven and might of Mordin we must have succeeded, but here isn't the battle field I was last on. Orsik looks about.
Apr 30, 2021 2:55 pm
we didn't win, is this the state you remember anything being in.
OOC:
I'm asuming passive perception of 20 is good enough to notice the changes to the area?

"Nope," Ulfren says as he marches. "Drow turned every fighting dwarf into a garden decoration, then turned every baby dwarf into a mindless slave. I ain't calling that a win."

He pauses as if to say something, but continues, "There's supposed to be this Queen that resides here. Any dwarf that gets too old, or maybe too ornery, gets sent to see her. 'A great honor,' they say, and then they're never seen again.

"We want to find answers, I figure we gotta get to her, or her generals. So far we've only found the slaves and the supervisors."

Giving an Ulfren-perspective recap.

Knurd can notice changes and thanks Ulfren!

How can this be. I'm not on my battle field, that I must say is strange. But how is you know such things?!? Obviously Orsik doesn't care for the taste of what your meaning him to swallow.

Ulfren explains, "I was away on a mission from our great King Throrrel Axelforge, off to the island of Lord Rain-Hall (or however you say his name) to battle some orcs. I and a bunch of others under the command of Dirk Clawhammer got frozen, literally, by some weird magic from that human lord, and we had no idea how long.

"Well, we went on to see this Lord Rain-Hall and found out we didn't have anything to do 'cause all the orcs got frozen, too. So we came back to make our report and see if anybody had a lick of an idea of what's going on, when we find out that in our long absence a bunch of drow came in and took over, using some kind of liquid to turn folk into stone.

"We found some young dwarves that were working as slaves in this mine, and after speaking with them we sorta pieced together that they been addlepated with whatever drow nonsense was put into their heads. I mean, they liked working for the drow!

"So now we're looking to bash the head off whatever spider-queen is running the joint, ask some questions, and see if we can't put things back the way they were."

He looks at Frigga. "Did I forget anything?"

Orsik taken in what was said, I am Captain Orsik Battlehammer and perhaps the last of my army by looks. How long has it been? He is sure that he will not like that answer any better than Ulfren's last one.
