Ulfren sighs. "Where in the bloody Hells have they run off to?"
Mar 29, 2017 11:58 pm
Both of you realize it's a goblin.

It is about 60 yards ahead.

Phineas's mind races, ever more cautious than courageous.

Is this a scout trying to get back to its host, or is this an ambush we are being lead to?

Phineas calls out "It's a goblin! We aren't going to catch it in a foot race! And for the All-Father's sake, watch for ambush!"

Oh gods, we're awfully spread out. This could be a disaster!
OOC:
Phineas scans the area for signs of ambush, using guidance to enhance his vision. Rolled a 20 after adding modifiers.

Ryyrik slows down to a stop at Phineas call and grins before calling out himself

The shouted warnings and challenges are interrupted by a loud CRACK! as Gunnar's weapon discharges, followed by a boom that rolls across the landscape, dislodging snow from tree boughs.

At the sound of Gunnar's shot, Ulfren looks to Billy, and with a heavy sigh he shakes his head before loping off after the group.

Phineas sees no signs of ambush, yet.

Gunnar hits the goblin square in the back and the small figure explodes, arms and legs flying in all directions.
Apr 1, 2017 1:24 pm
Billy shrugs his shoulders at Ulfren's look and trudges off after the rest of the group.
Apr 1, 2017 4:17 pm
"All right, what's the big kerfuffle?" asks Ulfren as he nears the group.
Apr 1, 2017 11:57 pm
"Goblin, I guess, most likely to tip the cowards of our arrival. Unfortunately for them, we have our own fanfare." Ryyrik smirks, as he turns to Gunnar, and raises his thumb up.
Apr 2, 2017 6:11 am
Gunnar returns Ryyrik's thumbs up, then signals that he's going to check the goblin corpse. He moves off.

Rolls

Investigate the corpse and surrounding area - (1d20+5)

(8) + 5 = 13

Apr 2, 2017 1:10 pm
Stepping through the other debris laying on the ground, Gunnar doesn't find anything of use on the body, but when coming around a rock he does see about 30 dead orc bodies.
Apr 2, 2017 2:47 pm
Gunnar whistles for the others, and starts searching the orcs for anything of interest or value.
Apr 2, 2017 3:32 pm
Gunnar find swords, knives and other implements of battle, but most are of sub par to Dwarven craftsmanship.

Roll a d100, if you get 70-100, you'll find something special.

.

Rolls

Something special? - (1d100)

(6) = 6

Apr 2, 2017 5:06 pm
Ulfren lumbers off in the direction of Gunnar's signal. "What is it now? Something happening at supper time?"
Apr 3, 2017 1:23 pm
Billy briefly inspects two or three of the Orc bodies to see if there are any signs of violence or if they are unmarked, like the others. He has a mournful look on his face as he laments this tremendous loss of life, even if it is that of a vicious enemy. He quietly finds a log to sit on, sets his dulcimer on his lap, and plays something somber as Gunnar and the others search the bodies.
Apr 3, 2017 4:26 pm
Phineas stays near the group, watching for any signs of movement or possible ambush spots in the vicinity.
Apr 3, 2017 5:48 pm
"Yes, more dead orcs," grunts Ulfren. "Don't we need to be checking in with his lordship or something?"
Apr 3, 2017 10:23 pm
"I think we should keep moving, too," Phineas says, his eyes still scanning the surrounding terrain.

"In my experience, rarely do you encounter just one goblin."
