This isn't a complaint, after all the point of CoC is to watch your PC die horribly, but I think I have flat out failed every roll I made on the first roll, despite having better than even odds of making all of them...

Excellent! I enjoyed it too! I'd be happy to roll onto another scenario, maybe The Haunting that appears in the current book if anyone is interested/hasn't played it. Alternatively, I have a few other options.
