Viktor is barely able to get into University. Where he attempt to become an engineer.
Early on he is recruited into the student union. He is never able to rise to the top, as he spends too much time studying. But he is able to graduate. Graduation grants DM+1 (DM+2 if graduation was with honours) to qualify for the following careers; Agent, Army, Citizen (corporate), Entertainer (journalist), Marines, Navy, Scholar, Scouts.

Having just graduated he hopes to get a position in the Scouts. And are able to get a job in the Couriers. Sadly, during one delivery to two diplomats, he mixes up the packages, almost leading to war and losing one of them their job (gaining him as a Rival). Trying to talk his way out of it and fix it, trains him in diplomatic relations.

Having been booted out of the Scouts, and having no other better options he joins the Navy where he gets more training in Spacecraft operations as well as advanced education. Due to his background he is placed as a specialized technician (Engineer/Gunner).
Apparently, the Navy had not caught wind of his snafu in the Scouts as he was sent on a Diplomatic mission. Here he was able to save the life of an influential civil servant and gained him as a Contact.
The whole situation also advances him from Crewman to Able Spacehand. With the promotion follows training in mechanics.

Viktor decides to stay in the Navy, having found his place in life. For his effort he gains training in administrative work. With his new training, he is mostly placed in a single starport for most of the next four years. This gives him plenty of time to gain advanced training. He studies Astrogation for most of the time.
He is promoted to Petty Officer 3rd Class and gains training in Vacc Suit operation as well as piloting flyers.

He spends four more years in the navy, bulking up and training his endurance. Having had a good career so far, his commanding officer takes an interest. He is able to impart advanced training in Naval tactics. Despite this interest, Viktor is not able to advance any more.
Feeling his age, he decides to muster out of the Navy.
