That seems… mostly correct? But in this case the shadows themselves are mostly harmless, the problem is when your team confused one to the point of exploding earlier. Any human within range would have been KO'd instantly, but your powered teammates were a little too tough to go down that easily. Exactly why, you're not entirely sure.
You recognize the symbol on the patch pretty quickly, it's most commonly used to mark samples of a chemical compound nicknamed, appropriately, Blue Sun. Rigel's intel says that it's capable of triggering a temporary Nova-like reaction in unpowered individuals, or enhancing powers that are already present.

Given that he's just leaking electricity right now, it's way easier to absorb than it usually is for you. He flinches a little when you step towards him, but as you get closer the sparky aura around him dims until it's gone entirely. You're pretty sure he'd flare back up if you stopped doing this though, so it's not a perfect solution.

Void Fist props the girl up so when she goes spaghetti fu she doesn't injure herself. A look of concern on his face as he scribbles down something in her notebook.
"Fried my phone. Why'd you teleport me? I almost got liquid metal injected in my eye. Pseudo Terminator is no bueno. Ktalklater bye~"
"I don't like this. Everyone is not dead which is good, but not snooping around either..." Void Fist says waving a hand around the room as he explains to the others. He holds up the bag and wiggles it. After he's down talking he frowns his chin and mouth pushing under his scarf wrapped around his face as he brooded and eyes the students that had all been knocked out. Void Fist looks at the clock to see what time electronics went out.

The clock in the room itself is electronic, so the display is currently blank. You do remember that it was sometime around 11 AM when the building shut down. You also realize that when she wakes up, that girl may well have no idea who left that note on her desk.
